You don't. We will never get another immersive sim on this kind of budget ever again unfortunately. The best you can hope for is something in the indie space

What didn't you like about it? It seems to be a really polarizing game. Some either think it's a genius game or is bland and boring. Does anyone have any idea on why that is? I personally love it even more for being such a hidden gem

I have though. It's probably one of my favorite immersive sim games, only being second to Deus Ex. And yes I've played System Shock and others of it's kind. Prey is just so damn good. It's sad we don't get good big budget immersive sim games anymore despite thinking this is obviously the next step in where the video game industry should be heading by now.

What are you looking for specifically?

I strongly disagree.
It is horribly held back by the lack of enemy variety.
It had a strong start, a strong end, but the gameplay turned mid.
Definitely a good game.
I don't see anything groundbreaking, but simply becoming more like it in some ways would regress the state of the industry back to a healthier form.

You play the game where you post this thread every day and your discord friends all agree with you. And then if someone disagrees you completely fail to argue and run away until the next day when you do it again. And then you do that for half a decade

I've pretty much played all of those too. Weird West is what got me to replay Prey. Ultima Underworld 1 and 2 are probably the only of those games that I have yet to finish and play on my list. Also is Blood West actually any good? Is it anything like Weird West because I mostly enjoyed that one

That's bullshit. "Immersive sim" means fucking nothing, genius. A game likes BioShock 2 gives you a large assortment of weapons, gene tonics, and plasmids to make your own playstyle regarding gameplay.

Deus Ex if you want something with similar level design, Arx Fatalis if you liked some of the obscure mechanics, Dark Messiah if you liked the physics based combat, Metro 2033 if you liked feeling like a rat trapped in a maze.

Weird West was definitely a case of budget being too low for their ambitions. We'll see if they learned to work on a smaller budget for their next game.

Iktfb. It's not my favorite game of all time probably top 50ish but there was something about the mystery and exploration that no other game quite has quite reached for me. I've played some other Arkane games and open world RPGs but they just aren't the same. Deus Ex Human Revolution if you haven't played it might do it but make sure if you get the directors cut you install the restore original bloom+lighting mod
