Do you use legendaries when you play pokemon or do you find them cheap?

Nah. Always had a full team when legendaries show up.

I used Tornadus on my first BW playthrough cause pure flying type is cool and I like the buff genie. I also used Ogerpon in a playthrough as soon as you can possibly get her but she only mildly counts as her stat total is below the average legend.

legendaries tend to look way cooler than regular pokemon so yeah I use them. it's just too bad the games are so easy that it doesn't really matter which ones you use

Kinda depends. As a kid, sure. But as an adult, I use Zapdos on pretty much every RBY/FRLG playthrough (but not Let's Go because Partner Pikachu is busted and I can't turn down Alolan Raichu), and I used Latios on my last Omega Ruby playthrough because I was rushing through it to get to the end for living dex purposes.

These are games for very young children. It used to be that underleveling by 10 would keep the games somewhat playable (outside of things like the Battle Frontiers) but I found myself underleveling in gen 9 by 25 and still sweeping 1v6 (6 where applicable). Obviously used X items, but lol.

I've come around to accepting lesser legends like the musketeer trio and genies/gerbils from gen 2 are totally fine in game and add flavor to otherwise bland teams
I respect a Mesprit more than an Infernape, Staraptor, Roserade, Garchomp, Floatzel, Lucario team in Diamond

Usually had a full party. That and their stats and special moves were lame compared to the ole faithfuls I've had up to that point.

Not really because always just used only to starter to mog the entire game solo. If I got lucky enough to get a legendary dog early on in gen 2, I'd probably switch to using it since that sounds funny.

I used to when i was a kid because they were cool.
then i thought they were op so i stopped using them.
Now I've started to use them again because they're cool, ran with Ogrepon in SV he kicked ass.

Level 70 Fug set an impossibly high standard that people think every legendary is up to speed with when it's not the case, although it still usually is a very strong catc that's not underleveled. Not that rare of an occurence in the franchise, actually, although you really gotta search for them.
Best example is probably the Level 50 Magikarp in HGSS. If you have a Pokémon at Level 25, you can use a Repel on the pond before the Lake of Rage to catch a Level 50 Magikarp. Give it a Rare Candy, and you got a free Level 51 Gyarados.

I don't think I even did as a kid. My ideal team comp is all three starters, a ghost type, the pseudo, and one of the "evil" Pokémon the bad team uses.

The last time I played through Platinum I was gonna use Yanmega but didn't realize until well after I'd caught and evolved the Yanma that the fucker can't learn Fly. So I decided to try and use a Drifblim too, but that fucker didn't get a better special flying move than AIR CUTTER until SCARLET AND VIOLET.

So I just ended up ditching them both and using Staraptor instead, because my Togepi had Hustle and I didn't feel like breeding another one.

I won't use the box legend on a first playthrough, but I might use minor legends, like I used naganadel in USM. Was the least useful member of my party but I like his design somewhat and didn't have anything else in the slot

I only run a legendary if their BST are 600 or less.

Too bad there isn't a level cap / level down option in the campaign, so you could trade in legendaries to a new playthrough and have them in your party from the start. Legendaries from Dream Radar were level-scaled, but that's really the extent of it.

I will use every single advantage given to me. If I was given a level 100 No Guard fissuremon before the first gym I'd use it.
Box legendaries, X-items, revives, nothing is offlimits. I've even gone so far as to trade over a party of level 80+ mons from a previous game after getting the 8th badge before.

Unless you seriously grind its EVs aren't going to be far behind the rest of the team and gyarados is an excellent HM slave, surf and strength will do just fine until it can be taught waterfall

It's so simple, so brilliant. It adds so much value to the games, I can't believe it hasn't become an industry standard. It's nice for if you find yourself over-leveled accidentally.

On a first playthrough yeah. On subsequent I usually do monotype in which case it depends on if I can get a decent team without it.

I've been replaying a lot of my ds and 3ds era pokemon games, and I have to say, I love this universe so much and I'm very glad I did it

Pokemans is single player and basicaly anything works. In terms of legendaries they tend to be late game and need higher levels for their mature movesets. Combined with EVs and there's a bit of grinding to make full use of a legendary versus your already working team.

Really, just play the game and do whatever.
