Why is everyone already writing this game off as a flop? From what I can tell, people are upset that:

Plenty of games take 9+ years to come out, but none have shown off as much of their development for so long as 2XKO has. The hype shouldn't be dying for anyone with enough IQ to realize this. The game was never even delayed or given a release date until recently.
>The roster's too small
It's a tag fighter. There'll be 1024 combinations of teams to play the game with, and the same amount of combinations to play against. And that's not even counting how many combinations with fuses you could have.

Ignoring that Tokon comes out next year and not this year, this isn't even an issue. SF and KOF have existed with big playerbases alongside each other forever.

Because in the 9 years this game was in development I stopped giving a shit about League, Arcane, and Riot in general.
No character that I like is in Arcane, so they won't be part of the game's roster.
The appeal has lost its shine, I'm just not interested in it anymore. I have other games to play including other fighting games.

League of Legends has a bunch of weirdos. They've got aylmaos, yordles, big ass robots, angels, etc. The 2XKO roster is 6 humans and 1 human with fox tails so far. I doubt they'll be launching with Blitzcrank or Teemo.

no you motherfucker the problem is people will be seeing the same fucking characters multiple times. Nearly most teams will have an Ahri because she's a really good support so imagine watching a fighting game where most people are always playing the same fucking characters

This is why every fucking team and tag fighter had huge fucking rosters in the past. you NEED that variety.

KoF is a tag fighter unlike SF, and if you have to do a tag fighter because you don't want to balance your game, you at least need a large roster to make up for it.

I have literally never seen a tag fighter launch with less than 20 characters. This game is Dead On Arrival, especially when half the fucking appeal behind "we're making a league fighting game" should be "we have a giant fucking roster so you can play as your favorite obscure league weirdo in a fighting game".

TL:DR Development hell and also Riot games have properly just given up all hope with it and just want to make some money back

Project was horribly mismanaged from an early stage, in dev way too long, unironically swapped out a decent name for an awful name, and an upper management basically throwing in the towel to release "whatever the fuck we have at this point"

And with like 5 other WAY BETTER LOOKING tag fighters coming out now, it's just way too late. Like who TF would wanna invest in getting good at this one, when it'll probably only have a few thousand active players post launch month?
