It's really interesting that some spiders can properly process how large humans are. Most animals, in the simplest of explanations, see us as big faces with hands, and vague shapes. To actually look at us, fully, and understand that we're giants with full bodies, is hard to do.
All the more interesting that these tiny spiders can do it.

not really
the reason you dont want to get them wet is its a lot of work to get them dry due to one of the most dense hair, and having wet fur can make them cold or lead to mold
though its not like they just drop dead form water, just make sure to dry them out since in wild they would just sit in sun and wind, but in encloses spaces they cant dry themselves

Polar Bears can't afford to be nice.
They live in a frozen tundra where food is more scarce than any other biome
If they see something that looks remotely edible, they NEED to take the chance. No pussy footing about it, even if it's a human, they can't take the chance that there will be something else to eat soon so they need to eat what they see NOW.

We have no fucking clue what is needed to have subjective experience. Unless you subscribe to soul and such, the most plausible-sounding hypotheses say that consciousness arises from your brain modelling the world it perceives around itself, which includes other creatures and their perception of you. And this recursion basically leads to the notion of self.
Ants may have some rudimentary emotion-like behavioural patterns, but nowhere near enough sophistication for subjective experience.

ants definitely model the world around themselves (they can remember where they've been) and communicate that information to others (so they have perception of other creatures). The real deciding factor for me would be whether or not ants have a self preservation instinct, or if they will mindlessly die for the good of the colony. If they do that, then sure. If they won't I'd say it's safe to say they feel emotions.
