Why are they so good at developing gacha games?

They're just the only rich countries whose consooomerbases are paypiggy enough to consistently whale for paytowin gacha dupes. Western countries don't have gacha devs because (at least until genshin groomed all the normies into liking it a few years ago) western gamers largely rejected the model and so it wasn't commercially viable.

The truth is the west is also good at creating "gacha" games, they just target giganormies like grandmas and sportsfags so you never hear about it. Skinner box mentality affects all sorts of people even if the initial hook is different.

They have unimaginable population density where huge percentages of their male-lopsided populations live in apartments smaller than your bathroom and they never leave them because the city outside is smog ridden and ugly and the escalators eat people. This subset of the population basically depends vidya and such for any degree of happiness and thus provide an extremely useful testing ground for gachashit.
