Just paid $800 for a brand new New 3DS, never opened
Worth every penny. Why the fuck are there so many gems on this system that have never been released anywhere else. And even if they were, if you want to play them in actual 3D, like they weren’t intended - you must own real hardware. No way to emulate a 3D display. At least the shit is easy to jailbreak, if you’re not a retard and follow all the directions. Many thanks to the wizards who made it so streamlined.

I will happily admit: it sucks the 3DS got so expensive in the past 7 years when they used to be a clearance item, and I’ll be paying a Klarna loan for it at $70 a month for the next year but at least I own one finally, and since it’s brand new - I know I’m the only one who’s grubby mitts have been on it. Used ones are just a few hundred dollars but damn it feels good to own new hardware from the past. The regular sized New 3DS seems to be especially rare in the states as they mainly released those god fucking awful XL editions that look blurry and feel bad in your hands. And you want the “New 3DS” cause the 3D is massively improved and the games run a lot smoother on it.

Anyways, this game is one of the best Zelda’s ever, and it’s exclusively on 3DS. They were really cooking with this shit - the sword is smooth, action feels good, 3D looks fantastic. I’m in heaven, and happy since it’s been 12 years since I played it. Also looking forward to Super Mario 3D Land and Samus Returns as well. This will help fill the hole after the magical experience that was Tears of the Kingdom that I just finished on my Switch 2.

Did yours have IPS screens? I'd only pay that much if it didn.

>$800
But why?
All normal 3DS variants, new/sealed, are still common on Japanese auction sites for around $120.
Even the super fancy limited edition ones new/sealed top out at $250-$300.
They aren't region-locked and shipping overseas is like $20-$30.
Are you fucking stupid OP?

They didn’t but such is the chance you take with new hardware. And I’m a stickler on that shit too - if I buy new off eBay it better damned be new. Like, not a speck of dust, truly never taken out of the box shape.

Thankfully this one was - so I got what I got with the TN screens. Still, I can’t tell a difference and I’m just happy to be playing a 3DS again.

Holy fuck yeah, wish I could go back to 2017. Fuck crypto, I’d be stacking those sweet sweet discount 3DS systems

We’re talking about the “New 3DS” which is different hardware than what you posted. And part of it is nostalgia bait so I wanted an American one, and didn’t want to deal with some random Japanese website I can’t read. And on eBay, a brand new New 3DS (peep the Black Friday ones) runs about $900 to a grand, but you can talk them down to $800 or so usually.

These are $300+ used, easy. And if you want a truly brand new one, good fucking luck. Again, don’t get confused between the “3DS” and the “New 3DS”. (Fucking Nintendo and their retarded console names - should have been named the 3DS Pro).

Oops, meant to post the black ones. The white ones are ugly.

Typically I like smaller electronics but I prefer the XL anyway, for more immersion in the likes of MonHun. No bigger than that though.

>again, don’t get confused
Right now, I have eight or nine sealed 3DS units across multiple hardware iterations.
I've never paid more than $300 for a sealed one and four from my current stock were bought in 2025.
Believe me when I say this - you are a turbo nigger retard and I am happy for the resellers who take your money.
Might have even been me!

I still see plenty of "NEW' models, sealed, for around $245 USD right now, but under current market conditions at this time I would wait for something around $175 to show up for the "NEW" model, sealed and from a reputable seller.

You strike me as an eBay re-seller's wet dream - a confident 'enthusiast' who doesn't actually know shit about the non-USA secondhand market.

3DS IPS is a meme. It's only marginally better. And it's not like viewing angles matter for a handheld.

Sure, okay, I’m sure you have a magical supply of brand new New 3DS units that none of the rest of us know. Suuuure you do

>>717488680
Listen, if you have to get an off brand Japanese 3DS, and can’t afford the “New” model, that’s okay. You get what you can. Some people can’t afford a new New 3DS and that’s okay. We aren’t trying to be elitist here. But for those who have the grand or so, it’s worth it.
