Its what Stellar Blade tried to be, but successfully. I was able to play it, and the DLC from start to finish without becoming bored. Stellar I couldn't even finish the demo. I feel it has style but lacks the seasoning that made Nier stand out.

Yes and no
SB is obviously aping N:A, but more strictly it has a wildly different way of presenting it's twist.

In SB [x] is just a fact of life, something literally not worth mentioning to the characters and the only one not in the know is the player. It turns the story's basic twist into a double twist.
It's main issue is that it's characters just don't evoke the same emotional connection as Nier.
The combat is a lot better though

Stellar definitely is much more refined, and visually more breathtaking. Agreed on that. The character designs remind me of the First Descendant, very cool and not locked behind GAAS. I might try the demo again later but I found myself wishing I could play as one of those cool robots instead.

No, it's boring and badly designed. The mech sections are terrible and go on for too long, and the combat is just mashing.
