Thoughts on the remake? Specifically the new endings.
I sort of forgot how tedious OG Nier was but the remake looks really nice and the OST which I listened to is so much better.

It's ok, the core game is still tedious and the revised combat doesn't make that much of a difference besides making you mash less.
The new ending is cool in the sense that it was made with Automata and that one gacha in mind, one could say they put it in the game in order to cater to automata fans. I didn't mind.
My favorite addition was Louise, which I think was a cut boss from the original.

I thought it was decent but definitely tedious in some parts. Ending was enjoyable and it felt like the references to automata and the gacha were made more deliberate. Story was probably the strongest aspect but automata had better combat and was more enjoyable overall.

Is this game worth playing on Switch? I see lots of memes about it and I feel like I missed out during my prison incarceration for possession of marijuana and rape

I really don't care for Yoko Taro Cinematic Universe(R) so the retroactive inclusion of Automata stylistics in Replicant felt extremely self-indulgent and jarring.
I'm glad Nier gets to suck Kaine's dick happily ever after however

new ending sucked. thematically incoherent, severely complicates the concept, looks worse than the rest of the game.
remake was fantastic overall. maybe the only good remake since like resident evil 1. the colors being washed out i don't like, but fits. the combat and movement being smooth instead of clunky is nice.
brother nier also way better than burger nier. aside from burgers being mentally deranged to idealize girldads, nier the story as a whole isn't really about yonah. but those parts get paved over when nier is a burger.
