Check your partition style. Right click the Disk 0, (not the actual partition), look at properties-> volume, if it says MBR then Secure Boot is fucky with MBR. GPT is the UEFI-compliant partition style, you’ll need to redo that. Not sure if it’s simply just a slight re-partition that keeps data though, it might require a full reformat.

Faster paced games are a result of that live service thing really, when games deviate heavily from the pace they had at the beginning of their launch. Positioning matters a little in battlefield, but even in 6 it’s way less so. I do hope it stays to its own lane and doesn’t go ridiculous with look and skins.

Obviously this turned out to be some really funny bait as the drive (that contained Windows itself) had just been unloaded and my PC stopped displaying letters and other fun stuff like that
I was ready to flash Windows from USB but a simple reboot straightened things out and MBR2GPT worked super smoothly without any reformatting or anything

I haven't tried the beta yet, but this was my experience throughout the playtests. The only other Battlefield game I struggled with was Battlefield 1 because the gunplay in that was bad. I eventually got used to that one and do ok in it now if I play, but I do still think the TTK in that one is too high, the recoil is all over the place, and the movement speed is too fast to hit people with most weapons. But this one is way, way worse for all of those things. I'm sad but unsurprised to hear it hasn't been fixed.

i'm 33 and i still don't know how i'm meant to configure my mouse sensitivity. it's different for every game and idk how to tell if i need to lower or raise it

it looks like shit, literally worse than BF1, and runs far worse as well. There is a lot of small glitches, like stuttering player movement, clipping through textures. UI is abysmal. There is a lot of BF vibes but it does not play like BF at all ultimately. It's incredibly fast paced, movement is silly fast and twitchy, maps are almost claustrophobic, they are all designed for 48 players and its always an operation metro type meat grinder going on. Maybe I'm too fucking old now but I'm not buying this, no way. Maybe it will be decent value at least as EA has reputation to reclaim, but it won't be a great game. Those who preorder are insane.

Uh, no, it literally does not. Only rapid movement abilities can off-set the advantage to positioning that a low TTK provides over run-and-gun (see Titanfall). Since BF6 doesn't have that, positioning has the advantage. Not to the same degree as a milsim, but the advantage regardless.

High TTK games are mechanically designed around run-and-gun but directly incentivizing your ability to keep your fire on target and allowing targets more leeway to move and try to dodge fire.

They really need to fix the melee takedowns. Shit never works.

Remember how on 3 and 4 a lot of the big maps had a hell of a run to get to the first objective? None of these maps have those long runs, so that instantly makes the map feel smaller because you're at an objective in a relatively decent time. I remember some maps in 4 if I didn't get a vehicle seat I'd just wait until a point was capped before I spawned. Don't get me wrong, not every map had the huge run in 3 and 4, heck most probably didn't, but some did, and that made the maps feel huge. If I think about the distances between objectives in BF6, I don't think the distances are much different to the distances between objectives on say Caspian. I see these as a medium/small maps.

More unused space is cut off

There's not a lot of unused space on these maps. The edges are pretty much cut off. Think of Caspian again, you could go a lot further out from the main battlefield. You could be miles away on BF4, whereas here everyone is pushed up closer as those far out routes are just not there. I'm curious to see whether those mountains on Firestorm will still be accessible. I have a funny feeling all maps will be void of any long distances to the boundary. The highest magnification scope we have on the sniper/DMRs is 6x zoom. 6x! The US snipers in BF4 came with an 8x as default! You could go to 20x. So with only shorter range scopes available, I don't see how long distances will be there. Because those long distances aren't there, it forces everyone into a tighter radius.

I think the Gibraltar map is fine, bar the shotgun bullshit that everyone is doing. It's an alright tank + humvee infantry map.

Though to be honest, none of these maps play that good in Conquest, IMO. I haven't tried Breakthrough (class restricted when, DICE?) to know, but I doubt that changes given DICE hasn't been able to design Rush/Breakthrough maps in forever.

You don’t realize how much damage 2042 did to the franchise until you play this. It’s very much rudimentary battlefield. Like a watered down version of 3/4. There’s no feature or anything that sticks out. Ideally we should’ve had something far beyond this by now. A game that mixes the features from 4, 1, V, 2042 plus original stuff. At least DICE isn’t advertising it as something revolutionary, it’s very much an apology tour after fucking up V and 2042.

Eh it’s alright. The only nail that really sticks out is that the maps are dogwater with no flow. DESU this is a game that will probably live or die by the maps. The best maps are the ones with proper flow and king of the hill semantics. They need to straight copy some from BF4 ASAP.

From shooting my gun in said firing range, it feels okay but i don't think I've noticing much recoil. It feels too effortless at the same. I should be fighting back these bursts a little more, the recoil needs to be turned up a LOT.

Most people like spawning on squads but BF6 is the most aggressive "can't spawn while in combat" BF I've seen so far. So they spawn somewhere else.
It's also odd that you have to click on the map instead of a list of squad mates, which is awkward if they're near a point or a spawnable vehicle.
