Name a bigger disappointment
>No actual levels
>Open world is completely soulless
>Bosses have zero personality aside from 1 or 2 of them
>No new beam katanas
>One battle theme, no variations
>The ENTIRE game is just you in the same room fighting a handful of enemies over and over again, little to no variation
>Boss music that was cool is butchered in post production and removes the lyrics
>The worst jokes in gaming history, Travis isn’t even himself in this game, just a weird vessel for suda to gush about things.
>Fan favorite returning characters are sidelined or ruined entirely
As a big fan of Suda51 and this series, this game brainfucked me when it came out because of how terrible and plain unfinished it is.

2 was way better. Memorable bosses, fantastic music, tasteful graphics and aesthetic and characters actually get to have personalities and not whatever the fuck nmh3s characters are. So many memorable creative scenarios and aesthetics in this game. Also more beam katanas and sick roulette wheel options, like the fucking tiger mode that never came back.

i liked 1 and 2 but couldn't get into this one or travis strikes again or whatever it's called

I also tricked myself into believing this when it came out and played through it several times over only to find in recent years just how much of an insult that game is not only as a game but as part of sudas discography
In hindsight it just looks like a tech demo for Romeo is a Deadman which is an actual passion project, not something he was heavily influenced by fan reaction and outcry to make. If he actually *did* want to make no more heroes 3, it doesn’t show, the final product feels like him begging to be let off of this ride.

>Some boss tracks were changed post release
>Didn't go to check them out because I really didn't care enough because the overall game was such a disappointment

I do really think that 3 shouldn't have been made. 2's a mixed bag but I at least enjoyed it to some degree. Would have been completely fine with the series never continuing after 1.

That's why it's necessary to play TSA before 3. To set your expectations and soften the blow.
Face it anon: the Suda who made NMH1 is dead. And that Suda killed the one who made Killer7, and so on. You can't cling to an artist and expect endless kino, you must judge each work as a standalone.

Yes in the same way God Hand should never get a sequel and never will. No more heroes deserved that same legendary fate. I still can’t say I hate the other games though, just 3. TSA is phenomenal and I like 2 despite its flaws.

It's really no different from 1 and 2.
And you speak like 1 and 2 are actually good games.

This but unironically. NMH had a unique and campy charm to it. NMH2 was just self indulgent cringe. It’s like going from Deadrising to Deadrising 2

I wasn't that bummed because I had just played through Travis Strikes again with my good buddy and it was honestly my favorite NMH experience.
No the combat isn't great, it's more about finding fun ways to use chips.
But the story is probably the most meaningful in the series.

Two is the worst, it barely even has Suda charm.

More self-indulgent cringe than 3, with its multiple Miike blowjob segments?

The Miike parts were kino. Bishop's and Travis' podcast was really fun to watch.

3 is easily the second best game after 1 and I don't understand why people hate it so much. What were you expecting it to be? NMH1 was lightning in a bottle and 3 still came closer to it than any of the other sequels. I was satisfied.
If you expected a much better game I don't think you kept up with GhM's output in the intervening time.

It needed more fanservice and a better art style. That's what NMH2 has over NMH3

No More Heroes 1 was my biggest "WTF is this shit?" after Killer 7 was such a magnum opus.
No substance, just style and the style wasn't even that good if you weren't a obnoxious geekcunt.

It wasn't ironic. NMH3 is a mess but it means well. NMH2 is putrid. 1 is ultimately the only great game in the series.
