this led to stealing stuff customers paid for by sunsetting large parts of the game. they also forced more and more micro transaction bullshit while cutting staff and quality

then they decided to hope onto the extraction shooter fad which is already a niche market dominated by Tarkov and Hunt Showdown.

Fortnite itself was born out of reinvention, I played the alpha way back when it was a shitty minecraft tower defense game. They were able to figure out that was a failure and switched gears to the gamemode people actually liked, turned that into the games identity.
