Personally I think Jack felt closure to his wild west past after killing Ross and moved on with his life probably moving to new york to become an author and got married to some dutch woman.

Max Payne certainly isn't that. The further you play them he starts to realize he isn't getting his family back and fights only for himself. Later on he is addicted to drugs and booze and is a complete fucking wreck, he didn't get a thing with his revenge, he lost even more

That's Max Payne 3 Rockstar fanfic to desperately tie in with the previous games when it should have been another franchise.
The ending of MP1 has Max Payne "releasing the trigger and then it was over" with the most shit eating grin face of satisfaction when achieving his revenge.
MP2 has Max going moving on, with some difficulty (like the desperate phone call to whores) but at the end, despite losing his new girl again, he ends with the dream of his dead wife "but it was alright".

MP3 makes sense narratively because he's older and became an alcoholic. you can't just move on from trauma just because you say you do, you can fall right back into it like a pit. Thing is about 3 is max actually tries to move on with himself by going to brazil and making a difference in the world.

remedy didnt do shit and all their dogshit games after max payne are proof of that

I agree, Remedy was a one-two-trick pony, but that doesn't change my comment above. Vengeance just worked for Max Payne both for improving himself and the in game universe.

mp3 ain't a rehash it's one of those rare sequels that actually tries to do new shit and risks with the source material

Max Payne 3 would've been better had all the missions went in order instead of going back and forth. Still like it.

Doesn't matter. A family man's life ends when his family dies. At that point you either commit suicide and nobody pays for what they did, or you kill as many people involved as you can before you die.
I'd go with the latter, though I wouldn't be able to kill a literal army of henchmen that are also packing heat and all their mafia bosses.

That, and became part of the prohibition booze smuggling, a couple of years later.
Personally I think that'd be a sweet RDR3.
Start in New York (1920s Liberty City), then they add routes between Chicago and stuff, plus you can get missions to transport moonshine and what-not from the south where you got some old contact, making half the game feel like the wild west again.
But they'll never do that.
