Me and my friend played through FF9 over many days one summer. Shortly after moving to disk 2 our file got corrupted. Undeterred, we replayed the game, and the file was again corrupted at the same part. Turns out the disk was fucked. I never ended up beating FF9 until I was an adult.

Still was pretty fun though, at least up until that part.

For me, it was Baldur's Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast on 6 discs for PC. Nothing comes close to the soul levels.

I dream of a world where this series was able to live up to its full potential. Feels like it should be even easier to do nowadays with digital and cloud libraries, but nope. At least we got those re-releases and that Ultraman game recently.

Remake was free if you bought Rebirth at launch. And if you bought the Remake + Rebirth bundle on Steam, both games were discounted in such a way that their total was equal to buying Rebirth on its own.

I emulated Legend of Dragoon.
Swapping discs was annoying. You couldn't save on the "swap disc" screen and you couldn't leave the screen, so all progress between your last save and reaching the switch disc screen was lost when backtracking to an area from a previous disc.

No, the old script was thrown out the window and replaced with something that is actually worthy of Star Ocean 2. It's actually astonishing how terrible SO2's original text was when SO1 was at least acceptable in comparison.

I did when I emulated my first game. Was mgs1. Didn't know you had to get a second disc until the game told me to. Had to look for it in a shady part without any sort of guide to get my save working on the damn thing, but it just worked. Great game!
