It is what it is. Not to mention live service games are dime a dozen nowadays. MMOs were a novelty because they were the only permanently online social games back in the 90s and 2000s. Fortnite replaced that.
Most korean mmos also are just now mobile versions with gacha like with ragnarok, lineage and blade and soul.

Anon you have literally not paid attention or even passing info on that game for several years? It is no longer just a battle royale but a glorified chat room that corpos inject with ads and collabs. It has goddamn live concerts where players can watch together and dance. Basically the same shit that happened in mmos back then. https://youtu.be/5h9TqNwPHqA?si=VNkqNcHMuELuxhqG
only mmos i care about are wow, raganrok and d&d. and i tried a shitton of them. i still jump into ddo every now and again single-player to try out some new builds. i dont think ddo will ever get old with me. its the only free game i put actual money into
Can you get autistic about numbers, theorycrafting and min-maxing in guild wars like you can with WoW? Every now and then I try to play it, but I never see an indication that it gets like that. I love dps meters and simulation and practicing to eek out a little more dps.

Whatever that is. The other anon was right. Ragnorokis decent. The elemental reactions of genshin, too. Unfortunately the latter is ugly af and unplayable anime garbage.

It's fucking dead.
It's been dead for over a decade back when I used to play.
You needed a fucking wiki and translator open at all times because almost every fucker was a frog and barely anything was documented. Apparently in France there's a completely different client and it's update super regularly, but it's geolocked and you can't just get it from Steam.
Beautiful lore and art style though.
