DDA is parryslop. The mechanic doesn't complement the gameplay, it is imposed, forced on you. It is overused, unfun and breaks the classic gameplay of doom.
A game that removes freedom of choice(weapon use, dodging, positioninf) in favor of reactive one button gameplay is slop.

Methinks I would rather play that over from software derivative games where enemies juggle a player like a sandbag.
What's funny is that the actual most effective way to play from software games is making a build which doesn't even juggle enemy, which at least requires consistent attention, but alpha strikes it before it gets too many opportunities to fuck you up.

Parry will continue being a garbage mechanic until hitting parry at any time during the enemy attack animation parries.
Souls does not require parrying ever.
