Damn near every state and major city has casinos now and those that don't have them on tribal lands in the state. Just 15 years ago that was unheard of.
Now plenty of states have online slots on your phone / or sports betting (Draft Kings etc).
Strip has more rooms than ever as they keep adding even more resorts, so even more competition for the same pie.
Despite all of this about 12 years ago the casinos went retarded and added "resort fees", 8 or so years ago they added parking fees.
Rooms were getting more and more expensive in addition (they used to be cheap), now tack on more city taxes / fees (gotta pay for all those new stadiums somehow and always more popular to tax tourists).
To give you an idea, Luxor the Pyramid Hotel now has a $45 a night resort fee,
It is also $20 a night to park if you aren't at least a Pearl MGM Rewards Member (used to be easy to get but they have always been raising the amounts).
Taxes and City fees are about 13% on top of that and the room rate.
But hey you are in Vegas...time for that legendary cheap food and booze (and complementary booze) while you gamble...
Yeah if it was 15 years ago. Most of the buffets have closed, the only ones really open anymore are fairly expensive, 80-90 dollars per person, also a 90 minute limit.
A simple domestic beer (12 oz) will be $10 dollars and up. Margarita $16 and up and don't forget to tip 20%.
Well there is still gambling...on roulette tables with 000s, and 6:5 blackjack
Yes some foreigners used to go to Vegas (and plenty went there often), however even most of them have wised up that they are just about better off going anywhere else (except Atlantic City) even in America, such as National Parks etc
