What is wrong with them? They could have been one of the greats with their Newgrounds artstyle. Imagine how obsessed gen Alpha FnF fans would be with a huge RPG based on Castle Crashers and other NG shit. Instead they make Pit People, Alien Hominid Remastered, and this stupid update to their one good game. What are they doing?

Behemoth is still releasing games, just at a very slow pace since the dev team is so small. Their games also tend to use a large amount of hand drawn art and a lot of it is just drawn by Dan Paladin himself so it's very time consuming.

lack of aptitude. why try to do anything new or risky when you have an army of fans who will consume whatever you milk. also NG now is way different than it was before.

Castle crashers is genuinely one of the best beat em ups, wish it got a physical release for 360 or ps3

FnF basically revived classic NG artstyle/humor/characters for young people. They have a built in fanbase waiting to consoom their shit yet they refuse to actually create a videogame.

If the option was to get something neat after a year or literally nothing after 7+ years I'd rather get the something. FWIW I think the DLC is doing pretty well, and maybe they actually do have ideas for a sequel they could pursue now.
As for what happened, Newgrounds is just a thing that had its time but got bullied out by the centralization of the internet. There's no place for site like that in the world of Google and Meta.
