How are y'all finding the Switch 2 to be so far? Is it worth getting one for Mario Kart and the new Donkey Kong? Multiple stores in my area have it in stock right now.

Not really, the big downside is the 2 hours of battery life the current model gets for portable play. If you're going to keep it docked all the time anyway then it's a fine purchase if you like Nintendo's games and want to play them in the future.

i've liked the switch 2 so far, but it's the only console i've owned since ps2. mostly play coop with the wife, some single player. dk bananza is fun. prob worth if you never got a switch 1

I love it so far. Hardware feels amazing. Its thin, light, joy cons are a million times better than switch 1 with the magnets, screen is great. I have honestly zero complaints for the hardware. It has lots of games me and my buddies switch between like smash, MKW, DK etc. Overall I think its one of the best console launches I've experienced.

I still play mine every day, but outside of DK its absolutely not a must have system currently. I've got a playthrough of BotW and DQ3 HD-2D with the new updates going currently. still do an online race in mkw here and there too

It's decent. It's closer to World than Rise, if you want a comparison, but I like it. It's a ton of hate mainly for the lack of content right now (DLC coming soon though) and the problems with the PC version (not well optimized), but on PS5 I've had no issues at all.

Been having a great time. Loving DK Bananza. Game is longer than a certain people on /v/ tried to say it was. MK World is fun. Knock out mode is intense and fun to play. Recently finished Kirby Dream land on NSO. Plan on getting Kirby and the Forgotten Land Switch 2 version this month.

I would only use one as a handheld and I don't think handhelds are more me anymore. I would rather get a light laptop for playing CRPG's. even the trackpads on the steamdeck which are good I just want a mouse

The console is good. But you've already heard about the issues with Mario Kart World I'm sure and Donkey Kong really isn't blowing my dick off too much kinda mid all around.

It's worth noting I treat my Switch as a home console that looks kinda goofy I'll probably never unlock this thing so any Joycon or handheld screen issues aren't my specialty.

if you can actually afford it, it's very worth it
but it's not worth it to all the poorfags complaining because it costs what they make in months and at that point only basic survival things like food are worth for them, a luxury like video games is not worth for people in poverty

Short answer is No.

But i'll elaborate. DK is pretty good but i don't think it is as good as SMO, MK is honestly bad (It has good parts but the Intermission obsession kinda soils it and drags it to the bottom tier of MKs for me. For Context i consider Double Dash the best one.). Those two are the system sellers, If you are still into Pokémon SV for whatever reason it actually DOES improve the way it runs noticably, If you are a Switch Online fag then GCN VC only has 3 games at the moment, those being Wind Waker, Mario Strikers and Soul Calibur 2..

It will probably be worth it down the line but right now it is honestly barren.

yeah, I didnt buy the first one (emulated stuff) but I didn't have a steam deck and this is worth it, I can't drag my PC around if I wanna play on the go or in bed/on a couch.

the classics collection by itself (yes I know you can emulate, but my PC isn't portable) is better than the ps5/xbone. Then you have MKW/DK/zelda/etc.

I was initially holding out for a new Animal Crossing, potentially a special AC Switch 2, but that's probably a couple years out and I don't know if I really wanna wait that long. (And at this point, who knows if a new AC is even gonna be good.)

I would say it's currently not worth it. I've barely touched Mario Kart. I 100%'d Breath of the Wild again and got about halfway through TotK before Bananza came out. Got maybe 20% through Bananza before I got bored, haven't gone back to TotK yet. I personally enjoyed playing BotW at 60fps with higher fidelity, even having experienced it with Cemu in years past. Two exclusives and two games that run better isn't worth the $500 asking price. Maybe in a year I could say to the average person "Yeah, grab a Switch 2."

I didnt own a Switch, this console was made for me. It's the Switch, it's more powerful, the best games for it are getting rereleases that take advantage of the hardware. If you bought a Switch, you were just beta testing.

I mean I think so. I got it on launch because I've got a 5 and 6 year old and another on the way. Having a system for us to play DK Bananza or the new Mario Kart plus older Switch shit like Animal Crossing and the classics via online will be fun for them. My launch OG Switch can move to them now.
