Who is going to adapt Homestuck to a video game? It doesn't make enough money to produce the the budget necessary for a SBURB vidya, and a game set on the Homestuck universe following literally anything else would be pointless. We'll have to settle for VNs and janky fangames.

Because SBURB is an enormously complex game? Part of the appeal is it being enormously complex and intrincate, full of obtuse systems and mechanics. There's more then just procedurally generating a Land of Shit and Fuck and going wild, there's gotta be STUFF to do there, abilities to learn and use, classpect fuckery, time travel. Hell, we spend like 500 pages at the beginning JUST seeing the cast fucking around with sylladexes. Tough luck implementing THAT.

A SBURB game would need:
>a really good physics engine
>numerous complicated inventory systems that overlap with the physics engine in various ways (including ways actively weaponizable in combat)
>12 elements and 12 classes with a total of 144 classpects
>fully realized time travel mechanics
>enemies that not only adapt and evolve but adapt and evolve to the object you feed to the sprite in the earlygame, adaptations that compound with sprites made by other players
>enormous enemy variety
>procedural generation of a wide variety of open world landscapes all
even if you completely sidestepped 90% of combat and physics engine stuff by making it turnbased, it's still easily going to be a 4 TB monstrosity that would make the most hardened CRPG devs cry for their mama and drain budget like it's a GTA title.

If Hussie hadn't introduced the Dancestors, these people would still do that, just as the regular trolls that people already liked and the Condesce/background lore ancestors that people also liked. The Dancestors added nothing but an additional level of complication to an already overwhelmingly complex story and literally nobody was clamoring for Homestuck to get even more complex and inescrutable.
