The story, art direction, and music just pressed my buttons in a special way. Without devolving into an essay post, the gameβs philosophy about nihilism and egotism is explored really well, the characters all have strong arcs with good payoff, and the plot has a lot of elegantly executed foreshadowing and details strewn throughout, especially if youβre reading all the notes scattered around that provide more lore. And Lancarse did a pretty good job with the SRPG gameplay, but Iβll admit the best part is the story, not unlike most Furyus. But itβs also more polished than their average affair, and has neat mechanics like the Madness gauge that works like a weird, backwards MP bar.
