This one is a rollercoaster of mid and kino. The story is structured in a way where nothing happens and they all just chase a mcguffin, and you have to do character episodes to learn anything about anyone. But some of the characters are awesome and super memorable. Like Stork, Wicked, and Shogo. And the bad ending is pure kino.

The story, art direction, and music just pressed my buttons in a special way. Without devolving into an essay post, the game’s philosophy about nihilism and egotism is explored really well, the characters all have strong arcs with good payoff, and the plot has a lot of elegantly executed foreshadowing and details strewn throughout, especially if you’re reading all the notes scattered around that provide more lore. And Lancarse did a pretty good job with the SRPG gameplay, but I’ll admit the best part is the story, not unlike most Furyus. But it’s also more polished than their average affair, and has neat mechanics like the Madness gauge that works like a weird, backwards MP bar.

I know that Takuya Yamanaka was the main writer for Caligula 1 & 2, with Satomi Tadashi being brought in to assist with some parts like world building and characters but only for 1.
Caligula as a series is basically the brain child of Takuya, so since he is apparently busy with Milgram, I doubt CE3 will be happening anytime soon.
