The more detached you are from Japanese culture (I mean the day-to-day culture of Japan, not media that made its way overseas to your computer screen), the worse you'll be at making Japanese-styled art. Japanese people are exposed to the ground truth from which their art is derived. Chinks and gooks are exposed to some of that by virtue of being East Asian, but they're mostly copying Japanese media, which is a regurgitation of Japanese culture.
