If it doesn't run on a GTX 1080, it isn't worth playing.

Anonymous No.717563302
sanjeet if you're reading this do the needful and don't upgrade until the card breaks and can't be repaired for cheap

If I had a 1060 instead of a 1080, I'd be using that example instead.

it's a 9 year old gpu. remind me why we should expect almost 10 year old hardware to properly run a current year game on the highest or near-highest settings?
Anonymous No.717563721
maybe 3ish years ago yeah
not anymore

whats the point of playing games on low settings unless its a competitive shooter or the like? or you literally just dont care how a game looks - which would make you a tiny minority of users
Anonymous No.717563916

This is true, only because the only games worth playing came out 20+ years ago

did you really go from a 1070 to a 1080? no way man. thats sidegrade territory
Anonymous No.717563994
i have a 5070ti and 9800x3d and i get 90+ on ultra in BF6

no, 5080, but im happy i ignored the retards telling me "future proofing" wasnt a thing and were trying to get me to settle for a 980 back when i built it

1070 paid for itself + the entire rig mining eth

based, enjoy bro. im an early 3080 adopter ($700) and i dont see myself upgrading for a very long time. most shit is still cpu bound anyway

i'm on like day 1800 of waiting for sane GPU prices.
don't even want a high end card, the midrange just fucking sucks dick.
Anonymous No.717565126
is a 5700xt still good in current year? how long does one typically last? mine's almost 6 years old and is getting funky crashes every couple of days but idk what's causing them specifically

Because the 10 year old gpu has 10 tflops of FP32 compute power and 512gb/s of bandwidth, which is still 4 times the compute power of the most modern igpus?

anon, the world has changed, we printed more money than ever before, these *are* "sane" prices because the overlords have decreed them as such

you literally just need to earn more money, there is no other option

Pretty much, I fucking hate that I fell for the RTX meme when there's no good new games.

but those old cards are glorified on here rather than called out for what they are, junk

gonna get the equivalent of an SLI setup Pascal/Volta enterprise 100 bin gpu to have developer power for the 1080TI generation and make my own games, with hookers and blackjack

There's your mistake, friend. All the best games were made before 2016.

I still run a 1080ti and my old OS, literally no problems, best UI, no AI, bloat, or forced updates, secure. Legacy games run perfectly fine, and the controls on the OS and card are not dumbed down.

My newest system runs a 4070, not great, but still good for modern needs. Windows 11 is required, and utter shit.

these cards are just this good, if you can't optimise a game for that generation then the game is absolute trash heap
