Roblox is an easy-use platform for making other games. Closest other thing I can compare it to is Garry's Mod, but the comparison doesn't do Roblox justice. It is (or was) basically just virtual legos. It has become a lot more complicated over the years, for better or for worse.

roblox is so popular now that when I have a gamedev related problem and go searching for answers online 8/10 results in any search engine leads to the roblox developer forum. It used to not be like this 2 years ago. They must have paid to be bumped up.

This is the future publishers want I think. Everyone is moving toward this direction where people build games for basically free using their technology and the publishers host and have full control over the rights for it. Theres at least 6 major examples of this currently, isn't the new battlefield heading in this direction too? Think about it, theres 10s of thousands of games released every year no one plays, this is how they're going to try to capitalize on it.
