That would require there being something to work with. BF4 is getting Warsaw Revamped because the system that was already there could be lifted into something that could be stringed together with a third party solution. The same could probably be done with BF3 and BF1 most likely.

It was even technically a standard until BFV released. Battlefield 1 was the last game to actually have a rental server program with proper persistent servers. Dice have been fumbling as a studio since that shitshow of a game occurred in regards to V. So suddenly 2016 standards are 'old standards' now. That's artificially the case too, the most likely answer to all of this is that they gutted their server infrastructure to save on costs.

But i would argue that the people who NEED their win rates are never going to be the people that play the game long term, they're just trying to get a quick fix before they get distracted by the new Call of Duty, as it always the case in Battlefield and then we see those players leave completely and the game actually gets more tolerable after that. On servers no one gave a shit about any of that. Obviously everyone tried to win but ensuring that you've won at 1 round in a night was never on most people's agenda, other than trying their best to win. It's only ever punishing if you get into a squad who don't actually work together as a team, or your whole team are just not coordinating properly and not even trying and are going more concerned about their K/D.

That's truly the truth of the matter. Pic rel may not be relevant for now, but there will be a moment EA aims to kill BF4 off and eventually the others with it. Luckily on PC the modding community will have saved it from EA in the non too distant future. But i imagine that EA don't like that they have to keep these old servers up just because they're still still very popular. They don't look at BF6 in the way that a BF3 or BF4 player may see it, as a game that will replace the older ones and keep them playing the SAME game they like for who knows how long, maybe a decade. BF6 has likely moved onto the status of COD where every game will be discarded after the new one comes out. That's what i make of the lack of hosting servers.

Not only a retarded system in which you don't get to play the maps you want because these servers are not persistent thus forcing you to leave, but also because their anti cheat has already been defeated. Thus they killed the most reliable method of dealing with cheaters, community moderation. It's the only deterrent in reality. I'm unsure if map voting still exists, but if a rotation isn't present then it's likely not a thing either.

The acronyms are fancy way of saying matchmaking instances (not servers) that supposedly puts players matched on similar skill level. Any real BF player ignored this crap in all games and went straight for the server browser because no one liked that system. Barely anyone cared about being pitted against people who were actually above your skill level. In fact, i spent most of my time in Battlefield competing with people that were kicking my ass on servers i knew they'd be on. That was purely out of choice. A test for myself to get better. Rather then preferring to steam roll matches all the time. But i also played more relaxed servers too, the ultimate problem here is choice.
