I'll be real with you guys, NG3 enemies are dumber than NG1 enemies. In fact, NG2 and NG3 enemies are dumber in general. NG enemies in all games are reactive and react to your actions. In all games, enemies are weak to Y and Y combos, with some X combos being good for startup strings. In NG04, turtling + flywing swallow was guaranteed no-damage, NGB made enemies more grabby to prevent turtling, and they will now consistently block your FS. NG2 vanilla has enemies that are also grabby, but they have more annoying anti-air; the game wants to punish jumping so you don't spam UT. NG3 enemies are already dumber, grabs are highly telegraphed (with the exception of some annoying grabs), but because of the SOB system, blockstrings are mostly easier to dodge and the dodge break thing is still OP in RE, they punish neutral jumps and wind run is free. The thing is, NGRE doubled down on blocking, evading, and other cheap and tiresome mechanics. That's why I consider Alchemists to be the best enemies in the game; they are what Fiend Ryu should be in this game. They are

Everything in your kit will hit them, encouraging mix-ups

They feel like they have strategies unlike other reactive enemies. They will try to grab you at range, other enemies already have broken ass grabs or will grab nothing if you set them up, maybe they did that to make sobs easier, idk
>They have the best moveset
Hell yeah
>They won't block your SOB chain
