Fighting games are at their best when both sides are extremely closely matched the entire time.
Fighting games are at their worst if someone is spending most of their time in something you can't get out of, because then it just turns into a singleplayer game.

Third strike is probably the least offensive if youre not retarded enough to get caught by this super though.

Same. I can appreciate optimal combos in 2D fighters (I've watched my brother do more KoF XIII combo trials than I can count), but I prefer platform fighter combos because they're so dynamic. I love building momentum until I've cornered them and they're either not expecting or can't avoid the most retarded option.
I also prefer being the defending player in platform fighter combos. I hate waiting for my opponents' punishes to finish.

3rd strike is a very simple and boring game not just on a technical level but also on a practical. it was the first street fighter that introduced shortcuts and lenient inputs for specials. I remember people bitching about df,df srk inputs in sf4 but 3rd strike actually introduced that. there is a reason this game is popular with noobs, its because it doesnt require much skill to reach a level where you can air parry some generic antiairs and do me some cr.mk xx super. lol

Fighting games are stupid, because the characters are always completely unbalanced. I play Ibuki in 3rd strike and you need to work 10 times are harder with her than with Chun or Ken. She is a very fun character, but also very difficult to play with. Her combos need super super jump cancels and you always have to be very close to the enemy.
