no I quit >The door slams on the Chief's door, if the Law doesn't care to for Justice, then I must make it by my own hand. >Get to the streets, cold wind brushes through me, the City knows now that I have no back up and it's building line up as teeth ready to tear into me. >First things first, I need a drink.
Disco Elysium
Does anyone actually give a shit about Cyberpunk lore? I know it's based on a board game, but at least as far as 2077's rendition, the setting and characters couldn't be less interesting

I like both 2020 and the game but the latter doesn't really do the setting much justice. It's supposed to be a pulpy amalgamation of cyberpunk novels at the time and 80's action movie tropes but the game tries too hard to be "grounded" by making all the characters mopey and the technology very boring. It feels like they moved the timeline forward so the world is only in the beggining of the cyberpunk age instead of being 50 years after the tabletop.

I thought about refunding the game after the first braindance showed up, I regret not doing it because I ended up playing for another couple hours and fell out of the refund range. It is legitimately the most offensively bad game I can remember playing in every respect including visual quality, I am legitimately upset that people like it

riding around in the passenger seat of a car on a rainy night city evening while the jazz station plays on the radio is the best vibe of it's kind i've had since GTA IV

no it doesn't >dude we're rich high IQ politicians but we've never ever noticed a hidden brain control room in our apartment... and it's so creepy!

what a waste making it glorified CCTV

Like I said, the game isn't just bad, it's offensively bad. The writing and game design is such that I begin to infer personal qualities about the kind of person who would think highly of this game, and I am mad at the person I visualize, kind of like with gacha games. Also the game has been shilled nonstop for 7 years at this point so lots of people have had the experience I described

b-but dude imagine if people were like cameras and able to recall things they had seen and heard like some kind of living witness wouldn't that be so dystopian and fucked up!?
