I'd say both are about on the same level, MGS3 is corny as fuck but it's a completed story while MGSV is more grounded but it lacks proper closure.

3 had an awful, trashy story. The Boss was the worst thing to happen to the series.
V is the best by the mere fact that it gave The Boss the respect she deserved: tossing that AI Pod of hers into a corner and forgotten.

MG1 was fine, MG2 was better but unnecessary (made only because of Snake's revenge), MGS1 was golden but the story was made even worse but at least it had proper closure. Every other game afterwards had terrible storywriting and even worse endings because his audience are retarded mongoloids who keep nagging him to make new shit that he cannot cope with.

It's true. Kojima created a character to spew his political ideas through and then turned her into this messianic, perfect figure that can do no wrong and is so terribly tragic.
The addition of The Boss cheapened Metal Gear massively to the point the series going forward devolved into characters crying over The Boss, how unfair life was to her and her unfulfilled will.

Being an adult and approaching this issue from a place of absolute honesty means accepting MGSV is unfinished and still had a better story than 3. Punished Snake barely speaks in his game, it’s still a better character than Naked Snake, Skull Face doesn’t have a proper Boss fight and he’s still a better villain than Volgin, Cobra Unit and The Boss. Quiet is a confusing freak, still a better love interest than Eva. And don’t let me start with the gameplay. Everything about MGSV is superior.

the cobras quirks were cool and they didn't overstay their welcome. Dead cell has less members but they had to make each of them more important. Fatman for example, you have to spend half of the plant section in his "subquest", you backtrack to defuse his bombs and as a reward you get a sob story from a nigger, i don't even remember his name. In MGS3 the progression is better tied to the overall plot, it doesn't even focus on the cobras at all unless you ask about them via codec.
