Dante, Nero, and Vergil's combat was better than DMC1. Vs gameplay is better than the underwater and final boss segments of dmc1. The bloody palace is passable. Its certainly better than DmC. It has some aspects that are better than 4. On a scale of good to bad, I have a hard time imagining how you would find it bad especially relative to what we have lately.

People were saying it was great long long before that anyone made any post launch essays about it. It released to near universal acclaim except from a couple of reviewers who said it wasn't woke enough and complained about the depiction of women.

The game is good, just on the boring side in terms of levels. Other than that the gameplay is good, I'm still pissed that they changed the way Vergil teleports in 5 than in 3.

They did not turn. No one present during the daily threads post announcement and the months following launch is still here. We openly mocked shitposters and laughed them out of threads and those threads were genuinely the best experience I have ever had on /v/. Yeah that's the weird thing with DMCfags. The games are super easy and any retard can complete them but you guys pride yourself on very efficiently beating up defenseless mobs. Is there a less impressive achievement anywhere in gaming. Fight someone who fights back, in a fighting game

For me, it's a masterpiece and one of the true high points of the genre.

it's been a long time since I've done a fresh playthrough of 3, but it's 1-2 iirc and you're not even going to have all your moves by the end of a normal playthrough. that is basically your tutorial before the game starts pushing your shit in.
