Where was the hype?

The Bungie was were really good and everyone hoped this would be as good or better
I start losing the hype once I saw the spartans looked like transformers and that they removed dual wielding

>During a 2012 interview about the then-upcoming game Halo 4, Bonnie Ross, the head of 343 Industries, and Kiki Wolfkill, the game's executive producer, spoke out against sexism in the gaming industry
>They discussed the developers' responsibility to think about how games are portrayed and how to avoid stereotypical representations of characters, particularly regarding gender
>This included a focus on creating diverse and non-stereotypical female characters in Halo 4
>Ross and Wolfkill also addressed sexist or discriminatory behavior on Xbox Live, stating that such actions are unacceptable and would lead to a zero-tolerance policy, including permanent bans

>Waited to many years because of development hell thanks to the studio separating
>Fucking "Oni was retarded" and "a Forerunner is a racist retard" its the whole sum as to why does this game exist and why is it an excuse to put enemy covenant alien species again
>QTE boss fight
>Killing the praetors simply doesn't feel like having as much impact as killing covenant because they are essentially enemy holograms
>Not the actual closure we wanted for chief, instead we got a sequel bait that unfortunately ended up being Halo 5, which is the biggest mess this franchise ever had, even more than fucking infinite
It was a cool game, but shit was going to go all downhill from there.

Once I saw the preview where Cortana wakes Chief up with the words "WAKE UP CHIEF - I NEED YOU!"
I felt reaaaally pessimistic about its prospects.

The game actually had a lot of hype, since it was coming off the back of Halo 3 and Reach (I know there's some problems with the latter but casuals loved it). I'm pretty sure it had the highest week one sales of any Halo game. But it had the largest player drop-off on Xbox Live of the three 360 titles and never matched Halo 3's overall sales.

This was the game that woke me up to how soulless franchises could become, funny that I was crazy hyped when she said that during the E3 reveal

That is not how you start a Halo 4 thread.

I was a PS triple owner at the time but there seemed to be cautious optimism about it
Everyone knew it wasn't going to be as good, but people either hated it or thought it was good for what it was

I maintain there were good concepts but at some point in development their rancid c-suite mangled it.

That is not how you start an erection.

Disgusting, promoting unrealistic body and behavior standards for women. Thank god later games fixed this.
