For the EX, it’s job dependent. I have to use a melee combo on them to get out by the time the boss is targetable and Im full BiS. Doing veraero/thunder spam with accel and GI gets very close but you are losing uptime on the boss.
The dps ones enrage when you kill one so you have to kill them at around the same time.

All you have to do is hook player intrigue. Everyone’s checked out at the moment because there’s no attachment to Tural, the characters or the antagonist.

The way to create intrigue is through silence. You say as little as possible and rely more on cinematography to carry scenes. Instead of pushing a narrative, you pose little questions to the player.

After that, you need emotional attachment to the characters again. You need scenes like Sphene waking up, Alisae and Gaboo, Yshtola flirting with you.

It works. Content and raids are secondary to the attachment of the setting.

I’ll share a bit of love for Caetsu as well. He’s fantastic at explaining things, and goes into technical depth without overwhelming the viewer with math or complicated details.

In a couple threads (across subreddits) I’ve mentioned that dungeons are designed to take 13 minutes: 1-1-2-1-1-2-1-1-3 for w2w trash pulls and bosses. I’ve been disagreed with arbitrarily at times. In a recent Caetsu video, he broke down a typical dungeon run by 1min/2min burst timers, and it matched my suggested timeline exactly. But his explanation was not only consumable, it was also educational and would course correct a lot of bad habits players might find themselves falling into.

I don’t agree with every single thing he posts but I DO think every video is a fantastic place to dive deeper into the nuances of the game. Unlike… some content creators, I get the sense he actually cares about improving a player’s experience and skill. And, as others have said, he is passionate about the game and actually enjoys it - he’s the positivity we should be putting on a pedestal.

God, I need Cross-up and NoClippy back. Double weaving without NoClippy feels like trudging through mud, and not being able to view more cross-hotbars on controller like we're still dealing with PS3 display resolutions is just pain.

On the topic of Cross-up, why the actual fuck can kb/m players completely clog their entire screens with hotbars if they so choose, but controller players can ONLY have essentially 2 bars visible at a time? Just let me have my regular XHB, WXHB, and double trigger hold bars visible at the same time, dammit. And make other bars mappable on controllers with back paddles now that they've become so popular. For me it’s not as much about how much in the cash shops as what’s in it versus what’s in game. In game we are told “rewards are hard” and given materia and maybe some gear that’s ilvl is always outdated when it releases. Then in the cash shop they get shadow dog mount, cruise chaser mount, good glamour, etc. There has been some cool pieces added in game this expansion but it has largely been trash. Outside of PvP and vanguard did we have any actually good sets? In terms of shiny weapons we even got less than usually since neither raid got one and the coolest new weapons went into map gamba (probably to stretch content). This patch also didn’t have a crafted extreme shiny weapon. The last two have been diamond and emerald both of which were more than a little disappointing, especially emerald.

It feels especially bad due to the content drought as it feels like the money we spend in the cash shop doesn’t even go back into the game or people would probably be ok with more cash shop items.

It’s also the mounts that went into the store. Having shadow dog and cruise chaser in there feels really bad. Those are mounts that directly correlate to raids in the game and they are something that would mean something to a lot of people. I don’t mind seeing the cutesy mounts in there but those ones always make me sad to look at. I was surprised Yan didn’t just go in there to follow the trend.
