AMD is historically the linux troon approved company. If you don't want to end up with a TKL keyboard and programming socks you should go for intel.
If that didn't convince you I don't know what will.

Last time I paid attention Intel was better value at the low end. So if you're building low end and using some kind of value GPU insofar as those exist Intel is better unless things have changed.

Israel needs you, trump needs intel so badly he's strong arming TSMC into buying 50% of it to prevent it from collapsing.
>Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan is overseeing significant cuts in Israel as part of a broader global restructuring aimed at improving efficiency and profitability. This includes layoffs at the Kiryat Gat manufacturing plant and a potential freeze on the $25 billion Fab38 expansion
Then immediately after a massive FUD campaign spreads to get him removed.
there is no reason to do it.
I'm super contrarian, In the past, out of contrarianism, I listened to the fulll discography of Phil Collins and Celine Dion, because I felt attracted to how uncool they are. But even I couldn't think of a reason to choose Intel over AMD in 2025. The last good Intel CPU must be from like 2021 or 2022. The 12400, 12600 generation. They have greatly been surpassed by AMD.

Why would I do that? Modern intel CPUs are power-inefficient, have worse peak performance and also are riddled with security vulnerabilities that keep needing workarounds that cost ~8% of system performance every time.
