>bro just retread the same shit over and over again for a couple lines of pointless flavor text about gay they/them reddit aliens
>only like 1% of the game is actually relevant to actually beating it
I could not imagine a more gay and boring game

Every single aspect of this game is just designed to waste your time
>22 minutes and you restart from scratch
>oxygen and jetpack meters that last only a few minutes and require constant refill or you instadie
>constant time sensitive events like sand falling, sand rising, brittle hollow destruction, giant's deep islands flying up, interloper flying by sun, sun station, warp alignment, and sequential tasks
>multiple long, convuted paths that you must retread constantly to get one more tidbit of info or even have a brief attempt at a puzzle (if it even *is* a puzzle, or maybe it's a pointless dead end, or maybe you need to do something on the other side of the galaxy first, who knows)
>anglerfish where you can only tilt analog stick 1mm or they just instakill you
>glowing red (herring) light guarded by multiple anglerfish that amounts to absolutely nothing (not even the decency to give a shiplog so you just think you're missing something)
>magic reddit space computer tells you there is more to explore when it's a) on an entirely different planet and b) just lore flavor text anyways
>ghost matter to conveniently instakill you if you step one toe out of line
>need a special unlocked ability just to kill yourself and start a new loop
>even fucking waiting at campfire to skip time takes like 3 minutes straight of just staring at a timer tick up because it's so fucking slow
>overwhelming vast majority of shit in the game is utterly pointless aside from a bit of lore flavor text, a small minority is info (yu can usually figure out yourself), and like 1% is critical path

It feels like an actual exploration game though because of the flaws you point out. It's a necessary evil, but I kind of prefer it (at least for one game) more than the old adventure formula. In fact, most adventure games feel like they're about the puzzles, but this game feels more about the adventure, and the puzzles just happen to be there organically.

yeah bro space exploration is when entire planets are smaller than the starting area of any other game.

Which is why the best way to "play" Outer Wilds is just spend a couple hours exploring the planets and then drop it before the tedium and repetition of checking dozens of dead ends sets in

It starts off at like a 6/10 but quickly drops to a 1/10 by the end
