Both can be objectively true as they do not contradict each other.

Consoles need to have a reason to exist. To do that, they need to have exclusive titles. For a consumer, more hurdles to play a certain game is a negative.

Ideally the perfect world is that consoles don't exist in the first place and everything is playable on PC.

That doesn't work for everyone, though.
For instance, my PC is in my office whereas our TV is in the living room. My gf is not going to go sit at a computer to play her games. She'd much rather sit on the couch with me.

i don't think exclusives are bad actually.
i think different consoles curating their own ecosystem of games made for a specific demographic is a good thing, culturally.
a lot of things being made nowadays are diluting themselves to have the widest demographic and copying what everyone else is doing and its making everything lose its identity, if xbox and sony are really are stepping back from consoles and going multiplatform then we need a new company to come in an make a new console or else were going to have a very boring bland gaming culture ahead of us.
