Can nintendo make any other type of genre or are they the modern ubisoft?

the only open world game in this list is mario kart, sneed nigger-man sneed sneed sneed sneed
also dilate
Did they really announce an open-world Mario? I guess it's pretty much inevitable for the next game either way.

>>717602896 (OP)If it's not open world, why bother?
what if they took mario cart, mario tennis, mario golf, regular mario, zelda, metroid, harvest moon, animal crossing, and put all of it into one open world game?

Here is what I propose for an open-world 3D Mario game.
>Super Mario Solar Flare
>Mario and his family and friends take Mayor Pauline's private jet to Isle Delfino or one of the islands next door for a family and friends vacation
>Bowser's ex-wife frames Mario with an android version of him, Cyber Mario, who goes on a rampage, scaring the piantas and destroying their houses
>Mario's innocence is harder to prove, so he stays in jail for a while
>Mario is eventually bailed out of jail, and the player can switch to playing as him or one of his family members
>Cyber Mario tricks Mayor Pauline, Lady Pauline, and Peach into following him onto his ship, resulting in all three of them being kidnapped
>New Pauline uses a voxel construction device that looks similar to F.L.U.D.D. to build new houses for the piantas
>F.L.U.D.D. is an NPC that can be equipped in the post-game
>Bowser's ex-wife is using a space station to harvest the sun
>Open-world island
>All of the characters are fully voice-acted, none of the characters speak gibberish
>Cinematic soap opera cutscenes
>F.L.U.D.D. dies again, but this time, he can't be revived
>Bowser and his ex-wife get re-married
>The feud between Mario and his family and friends and Bowser and his family finally ends
>>717604170No, we freak out when adults buy toys and defend them with the force of a thousand suns

Nintendo flipped the map, put mario kart roads on it, and sold BotW for a third time
RUMAO
>>717604691it is open world, it's just small. Which is where open world shines.
You need to realize the average Nintendo fan worships the company while refusing to play anything else. So when Big Daddy N finally stops living in the past and gets onto the bandwaggon, the generic open world slop their corporate overlord shits out looks like a fine meal.
>>717605619Only Mario Kart is open world of the games he listed. The others are just big levels, you might as well call 64 and Sunshine open world since it's basically the same but on a smaller scale. Kirby especially isn't open world, those are linear levels.
tww was more of an open world game than bananza and that's a 2002 game, the absolute state of snoys lmao
the beady eyes look a bit weird but i think it fits the original art style more
