I didn't hate her, that would require me to feel strong enough about her to feel a particular way. Other than the interruption in the Sphene fight she more or less was just a Shonen MC at her core. We had been relegated to a mentor character which I didn't mind because Endwalker should've been the end of our personal story imho. The issue with Wuk is in presentation, and the nature of an MMO story where you aren't the MC. Like the FFT raids had Ramza as the MC but he was primarily on the sidelines in actual combat other than the cheer during Ultima. Wuk is a constant presence that primarily feels off due to the constant air that despite you being the mentor here in any place that you could contribute Wuk is already there, she is perpetually on par if not better at times than you, making it feel at times that you're less a mentor figure and more a sidekick. That's a fault on the narrative structure of Dawntrail moreso than Wuk as a character. It's part of why I'm glad Bakool Ja Ja is in that slot for the FFXI raids, because he needs a guiding hand far more considering his faults and needing to basically unlearn what was beaten into him

The unsundered being gone is a problem because Emet-Selch was the one with the soul crystals that let them recruit new guys, and Elidibus was Zodiark. Emet-Selch was the one keeping a leash on everyone too, like Fandaniel didn't dare start working on his own stuff until Emet and Elidibus were confirmed dead.

I have never skipped any cutscene in the game, but as soon as 7.1 rolled around, I started skipping everything. I actually did 7.1 and 7.2 with Questionable instead of doing it myself. This expansion is "cooked", as the zoomers say. There is no salvaging it. You should be skipping everything until 8.0. This is a mulligan expansion. To know anything about whatever is going on in the story is a waste of your time. Seriously, you cannot possibly be upset about the MSQ being bad for 2 or 3 years. That's not good for you. Just enjoy the content, skip the MSQ, and unsub if there is nothing that you want to do.

Canonically, at some point in the lore, Hydaelyn had to materialize to defeat a visitor from another realm called Ultima. Also canonically, the auracites were originally created by these entities, with the heart of Sabik being one of them.

After Fandaniel betrayed the ascians and killed Zodiark, probably the ascian has turned coat and began helping these entities. There is no Hydaelyn / Zodiark to stop them anymore from taking over the shards.

Yet, if Hydaelyn defeated Altima, Hydaelyn can only sunder. So it is likely each remaining shard has a zodiac stone of Altima, and the incoming lore is about bringing Altima back now that the Source is vulnerable.
