The first thing Star Wars fans learned about the new movie was that it would have a sweaty black person in it, and then everything else about it just fell apart and went up in flames for some reason.

Design a game based around Victorian England with a soula sista as the main character and people "don't really have their heart in it" because the progenitor wasn't some core idea but a bunch of specifics.

They can't call me racist because I inexplicably like the next game they made that's a direct corollary and is 100% black.

Karnaca is lame compared to Dunwall. Dreadful wale is lame compared to the Hounds Pit. The story is worse.
2 is still massively overhated though. It's a fantastic game, just a little worse than 1 in certain ways.

After I played the original when it came out, I was so excited to explore the dark continent with new exotic beasts (like how the hounds aren't actual dogs) and have a new voodoo spin on the magic... I wanted british explorer garb and tribalmen with bones in their noses
