Grok, ChatGPT, etc. they just regurgitate censored search engine results that aren't even right half the time.
But Net Navi's, at least in the sense of little personal virtual assistants/companions you could have on your phone are so very close.
There are Character AIs that let you simulate chatting with a character you like.
I saw an App a few years ago that literally had a little 3D character avatar you could customize that was attached to a chatbot (can't remember what it was called, and it was some kind of gimmicky surrogate gf/bf thing - cute but kinda cringe too and it got old fast)
The Grok type thing could give these chatbot AIs some real use conversationally if only they weren't shitty with their search results.
Really you probably just need someone who can make a jailbroken chatbot/3D avatar app and you'd have something like a Net Navi.
