Why is the large majority of /v/ actually quite bad at video games? You'd think a board of supposed gaming enthusiasts who sink a lot of time into playing and discussing the medium would be at least halfway competent, but it's clearly not the case.

It's been getting gradually worse and worse over the last decade. I suspect at least part of it is down to third-worlders running old hardware that gets PS3 Skyrim-tier performance.

I'm not bad, I'm just not good enough to be considered good.

Cope. 35 and still as good at vidya as I've always been.

Anyway OP the answer is brownos and third worlders. 4chan is full of them these days every single board. They cannot accept responsibility for their own flaws and instead blame others.
>it's the devs fault
>it's unbalanced
>I don't care if someone can beat it hitless while blind folded I can't be bad at something it clearly isn't designed right

Friendly reminder that back in year one Overwatch, a fun yet somewhat shallow game initially famed for its casual accessibility, the majority of people from /v/ who played it were ranked in silver and low gold. To put it into perspective, high gold was considered bog average.

It's because /v/ is full of gaming enthusiasts that they're shit, because the average person is shit and completely biased. /v/ is representative of that fact. As bad as /v/ anons might be, they're still probably better than most other places on the internet on average.

More like terminal autism compounded by 15 years of posting on this site instead of actually playing anything. You could hand these guys a game on Easy mode, and they'd still dogpile the Steam forums asking how to get past the tutorial.

Coz most people here were born after 97.
They missed the 3rd and 4th generations plus Arcade games.
So they missed the entire Skill Building phase of gaming. Leaving them unable to accomplish fundamental tasks.

I've always been a huge casual and bad at games despite playing them for decades at this point. I usually get my ass kicked playing above normal. It's gotten worse as I've gotten older since my reflexes/aim/general sense have been getting worse. Puzzles generally make me want to kill myself so I look up the solution if it takes more than 30 seconds to figure out.

Most people come /here/ to shitpost rather than to actually learn or discover new games.

it's a secondary problem
gacha players are secondaries
coomers are secondaries
twitter drama posters are secondaries
the chinese/korean THE WEST IS DEAD posters are secondaries

most of these people don't play more than one or two video games, it's all FOTM shit
does anyone remember Bowsette? Lady D? just slop nonstop

Most people who are actually good at games don't come to the board that's most popularly known as "/b/ but with video games".
