Gameplay looks phenomenal and super fun. The Dragon Sword looks awesome and it might end up being the best iteration of the move set yet. The new gleam mechanic looks cool.
But there's a huge ugly black mark on him that wont come off no matter how much you try and scrub it away, he will have no additional weapons in the game at launch.
You will have to pay for them as post launch DLC if you didn't get the deluxe edition. Really really huge shame.
Even just a single other weapon would've been something. Hopefully the Dragon Sword has its biggest most crazy moveset in NG yet to make up for it a little bit.
This made me reconsider getting the game at launch and maybe I should wait for the weapons.

He looks fun and has the basic Ninja Gaiden gameplay I expect like UTs, Flying Swallow, GT, Izuna etc. with a ton of extra flashy platinum shit on top.
His weapons looks crazy over the top and wouldn't fit on Ryu at all, but it looks fitting for this character because he looks so stupidly edgy. The rocket hammer and drill looks straight out of Bayonetta.
I'm soured on him because Ryu has no weapons, at the same time he feels like an apology for Viola who felt lazy and bad to play which was a disaster when it was coming from Bayonetta.
Yakumo on the other hand looks like the most fun they've character they've made since MGR and his moveset might even rival Bayo's in 1.
The gravity on weapon switch juggle look too low, he's just floating up there and it doesn't look as natural and in-universe as it does in something like Devil May Cry. But at least we can see weapons can block and even parry your air juggles.
I really hope he has one final big thing to bring him home, something they haven't shown yet.
If they want to truly apologize for Viola they'll give him a crazy Devil Trigger form. Viola's Devil Trigger is also one of the worst takes on that mechanic ever, super boring. And make me able to take his mask off, he looks like a sperg

A mission based action game should be pretty easy to segment into a demo but I don't know if we'll get one. TN usually does demos more often but Platinum not so much. This shit does not play as Rising at all. Yakumo has way way way more air time than Raiden and Sam and he has real time weapon switching rather than MGR's you're locked to the HFB and if you pick a secondary weapon it takes the heavy attack button of the HFB so you lose half of that swords moveset and the only way to change is to pause the game.

It's not the same kind of parry at all and they're looking at it wrong. "Parry" is a combat technique that can be applied to video-games in a bunch of different ways but I think these people try and look at it as if it's one specific mechanic that supposed to work the same across every type of game. From what I've seen of 4, this specific type of parry is not the main defense technique but more of a smaller nuance that you'll only get better at after a lot of time with the game and understanding of enemy behaviors. It'll probably happen by accident once in a while though.

For me, it's the church fight in NG2. I died like twice to the encounter right after it before you get the keycard one time and had to do the church fight all over again twice. It was a nightmare.

Ok marketer for something else, Yakumo has 4 weapons that come with 2 full movesets each with their own mechanics and forms due to how the transformations work. Ryu is the same way but with the Dragon Sword having 2 movesets and instead dramatically changing how he uses it. You can do the maths.
