I found this tremendously disappointing, and not just for the gameplay which I expected to be dogshit. The story is just completely uninteresting, they had a couple of decent hooks but then not one of them went anywhere remotely interesting. Moreover, the devs' understanding of fifties/sixties English culture comes across as extremely superficial. They didn't bother to hire anyone who could make it work as a period piece they just cobbled together a few tired stereotypes and left it at that. The game could have been made in Idaho and would have had as much to say about England.
Finally, what's up with the voice acting? The game is set in Cumbria. I don't think we ever find out the origin of the regiment, so I will allow a different regional accent for the soldiers (for example, they could be from Northern Ireland). Nope, instead we have Geordies (fair enough), Yorkshiremen, southerners, Northern Irish and a motley crew of others as the village locals, soldiers, druids, and every other group you can think of. Again, this isn't London, this is *Cumbria*, in the early sixties. It should not be a melting pot of the whole British isles.
Sadly, a lot of videogames, especially when they are not the very high budget RDRs or Witchers, give the impression that they are not made with very much attention to detail.
