Playing a magic-user is so boring
You only have the option to
>cast damage spell
>cast support spell
>cast utility spell

As a martial class you have dozens of options:
>causing damage
>grappling
>applying some kind of cripple effect
>winning a clash against the boss monster
>throwing objects/allies/people
>guarding
>Parkour
>using a scroll/magic items, which can do everythign a magic-user can
>many other things

RPGs really have a bias towards making martial classes as interesting to play, while magic users are treated as "what if you were allowed to play the class your support companions use". You always have the dedicated healer/support class magic-user as a companion, but you never have the "Hero with main character aura" as a potential martial class companion.

But you can do all of those with magic too.

>cast damage spell
The most basic "cast a fireball" already looks more fun and interesting than swinging any physical weapon.

Depends on the game.
DD:DA and DD2 do magic users the best out of any game.

But most WRPG's make magic users glass cannons for some reason - and most of the time they make them glass cannons that can hardly do fuck all combat wise.

A Fighter does one of those things and ends his turn.
A wizard does one of those things and ends the fight.

What damn action-RPGs are you playing that let you parkour and use wrestling moves?

Experience of a mage:
>cast fireball, because it's optimal in 90% of cases
>that's it, it only causes damage

Experience of a fighter:
>decides to use Martial Art B, which means slash/slash/grapple with left hand/stab
>has a high likelyhood to deal critical damage or knock the enemy prone
>can combine this with contextual fighting and throw a barrel, plate or other object at another enemy during htis

Any good ones? Like seriously. Any good RPG has these options. What kind of shit games do you play, where this isn't standard? Probably shit wizard games, you magic lover.
