Anyway, for me, it's excess foreskin.

I've built a full size gaming rig and an mItx NAS.
Next tech project is a mini AI server, I want to run 2 of the upcoming intel workstation GPU's off a tiny ass motherboard. I'm worried that I won't be able to find a motherboard that can do even a single pcie 5.0 gpu.

Because I hate building PCs in small cases. I tend to buy as big as they make so I don't have to fuck with it. Although I will say I am fairly confident my next build will be a thick body horizontal case

>my monitor is miles better than my TV
That's only because you don't have 40" OLED TV. I guarantee you 40" OLED TV is better than whatever multi-monitor setup you have going, hell you could probably do 6x small windows on it or something, split it into zone of 6

>but the burn-in
yeah that's your problem, not mine

>40" OLED TV
I have a 43" IPS monitor. I'm not buying OLED because I have no interest in throwing it away in 3 years after it gets burned in, it's a hassle to dispose of large panels. A 40" screen from a couch is fucking tiny, too.

When they make fancy screens that don't kill themselves, I'll buy one.

the problem with the dream PC:
it's good. in fact it's a little too good. i built my dream PC in 2016. when i was 25
you guessed it im in my mid 30s and that PC is still running and kicking. apart from the gaming capabilities which has grossly diminished even though i got a 6700 a couple of years ago

i feel more like buying a laptop or a flagship smartphone than building a PC from the ground up again.

I had one of these. It was nice to have such a minimal desk footprint, but upgrading anything was always a pain in the ass. High-end GPUs have also gotten so massive that SFF is becoming absolutely unsuitable for high-end.

Heck! I bought the peerless assasin 120 SE twice because it removed a bottleneck I didn't know I had with my 3800x against my RTX 3070 ti, but the fins are bullshit. They bother coloring the heat pipes, but not the fins. It stands out like a troon, which also means it's disturbingly ugly.

I have an itx, if I wasn't travelling I'd never build another. The cpu coolers are too small so they are both noisy and cannot handle anything beyond mid range. GPUs are constantly increasing in size and wattage which makes it hard to upgrade without swapping out the very expensive case you just bought, they are also generally louder because heat management is hard in a small case. Installing new ssd's is always a gigantic pain in the ass, I basically have to disassemble half the system to do it and there's also too few ports. Everything is more expensive and even the parts that aren't will be limited by size restrictions so you can't take advantage of good deals.
Anonymous No.717666107
Only thing SPH is "useful" for is a home server/lab. But why the fuck pay extra for the hardware when I can just use old shit I have laying around? Hell nearly 10 year old components (that were good at the time) will crush any kind of home sever needs you could possibly have. And I don't like in the EU so power is basically free, I don't have to give a shit about power efficiency.
