AT Duna is pretty fine except for the second bellyflop, which has a hitbox that seems inconsistent. Sometimes you're next to it and nothing happens, other times, you could be on dry land and you still get destroyed even with 5 meters between you and the monster.
So far the ATs is this game feel easier than World's and certainly feel easier than the Emergency Apexes from Rise. Apex Diablos is scarier than anything in Wilds at the moment. 8* Tempered Gore and Seregios are both harder than AT Rey and AT Duna.

It's only CPU heavy if you set it to ultra, then the game sets the rendering distance to infinte and the geometry detail to maximum, it crushes everything. Setting the detail distance to high instead of highest makes a world of a difference in performance and is visually indistinguishable. If you have a weak cpu you should also consider lower the geometry detail from highest to high and turning off ray tracing, as that is a CPU task in wilds too.

I'm getting 70+ FPS 4k with an RX9070 (non-XT) and FSR4 is at quality. High res textures enabled and all.

For what it's worth, there is a balance to strike. The T8s didn't do anything to make the fights more interesting, they just take ages and hit like trucks now. They also added a ton of wound resistance, which not only lessens how much you can interact with the mechanic but is effectively a nerf for some weapons, like CB.

No, ATs for example tend to have new movesets, are more active overall, etc. You also tend to have some reward that helps balance out the increased difficulty -- new monsters come in, hit harder and can take more damage, but they give you parts to build stronger gear so future hunts are more manageable. T8s don't do any of that, and because of how the scaling in this game works, have effectively replaced T7s for the most part.

Stronger variants similarly tend to have new moves, new attributes/elements, etc. and offer their own unique armor. It really feels like T8s should have been introduced with the Talisman update and the rewards for them should have been unique to that mechanic.

That's why there are porn animations of the World handler, because despite maybe not succeeding too hard (depending on who you ask) you know the intent was to make an appealing character. The characters in Wilds (just like the rest of the game) have the complete opposite energy, they might look slightly better graphically, but it's like you can feel it in your bones that the goal was to make characters that aren't too appealing and that causes them to have exactly zero draw. Which shouldn't come as a surprise with the other even more egregious looking characters in that regard, they all look like "people" where "consulted" on their design for exactly that purpose.

I'd like to think the only reason we didn't get them is because they weren't interested in expanding the follower system at all, but they also didn't get those voice pack DLCs while Fugen's niece who never appears in-game got one
