>my country tax payer money funded this shit study
I ain't debate that it's wrong, but holy shit... trust the """science"""
I studied the wrong thing if I could just leech taxes for 40 years like this by making trannies play games with aimbots

It would be a cheap study to run, you just ask EA/Riot for cheater user profiles and count the troon flags.

I'm a developer for a corporation:

Code reviews that have to be co-signed by several parties, every change has to go through several execs and explained to them, literal micro management hell where you can't slide in funny stuff or otherwise you get implicated in software sabotage, etc. Also since the past decade developers are being taught to deliver the most minimally viable product, so you don't really have time to add quirky stuff, because everything you do was already planned out by psychologists, analysts and other data lake adjacent freaks.

>he doesn't know
Sad. Even the modern day's almost completely tech illiterate average users can use safe ones if they know where to look. And anyone with a modicum of understanding and persistence can very easily make his own even.

Because silly cheat settings would ruin the sanctity of the game's artistic value and atmosphere, which MUST be taken as seriously as possible

It's more the Internet than anything else.
Sure you can say mtx killed it but you have to remember that towards the end of the 90s and early 2000s cheats were made for similar reasons, to sell magazines and books with the codes.

Don't be fooled, i'm part of the problem that makes corporations boring and unappealing for devs. I do the least amount of work, never innovate, always lazy, work like 2 hours a day out of the 9 I get paid, never clock in my breaks, etc. Shit moves so slowly in a corporation because of all the stuff I talked about and all of them don't understand what "agile" really is, so I just don't give a shit anymore as it beats going back into construction where I have ruined my body. If I snapped I would've just switched to a startup where you can do rockstar shit without any form of documentation and receipts

2 reasons
- devs have better test environments, so they don't rely on cheats, can use the tools they have for testing and shit
- turns out gamers are willing to buy what used to be cheat codes for real money

Xanadu, Supercroc and Cretaceous corral in zoo tycoon, i remember these specifically because you're supposed to rename an exhibit to these to unlock the unicorn, deinosuchus and triceratops
specifically RENAME, because creating an exhibit with those names made my computer BSOD every time and scared the shit out of me
