The problem with "the invisible hand of the free market" is that to put it to work you have to sit down and have a meeting and decide in front of a bunch of 60+ year-old men + diversity hires that you want a game with large-breasted cat women, slavery, and sex.
This is a very hard thing to pitch, which is why the free market always just trends towards the more "stable" stuff - you see exceptions when they're not really worried about making money and they're just trying to push a narrative, but most of the time they just pick the safest option to make the most money as fast as possible. It would be hard to convince a whole bunch of old men to pay for cat boobs game - they still see it all as bugs bunny cartoons.

This will change FAST as older generations die off and the internet generation takes control, but that might take 20 or 30 years - at that point such games will flood the market.

I really liked On Your Tail but the ending was sad and kind of puts a bitter flavor into it. Still it was a great vibe. It's kind of like a vacation that you didn't want to end but then you realize it has to and you can't go back.

It'd say it was about 90% of the way there, it just had a lot of QOL issues like not being able to fast travel, the romantic subplots don't really have much payoff and the ending is kind of depressing. I don't know what it is with furry games always being depressing, Nine Sols is like pouring grimdark juice on your brain.

I've been checking out their seasonal updates where they add new mechanics and you can get some extra crazy runs. This latest one had talismans that activate certain abilities based on meeting a threshold (Like; Kill X amount of enemies to activate customizable effect 1 and 2), One of them was a meteor talisman, which is Li's grenade. You could set it up so that every time you killed 3 enemies you'd have like 10 meteors spawning, and I'm pretty sure they were affected by her perks too. It was very fun.

For me this is happened most recently with Metaphor. Playing through it now and being charmed by it was a nice surprise, I have been able to enjoy the ride. But I ignored it since release out of spite over the party being 90% visually indinstinguishable from a human.
