only real flaw are the maps currently. We have two hyper infantry focused maps and one other map with minimal vehicle introduction. Other than that, wish you could keep the minimap permanently zoomed out and refine the UI interactions a bit. IE customizing a gun and switching guns on a class is a pain point.

Hitreg was completely broken yesterday, I predict this game will have terrible network issues at launch even with removing the server browser, it's hardly even a prediction because that's what always happens. How’s it running on seriesX? I don’t really play shooters anymore so my standards are low. Destruction looks really neat to me and I wanna do silly shit like get kills with the paddles or repair torch.

I wanna plant c4 around a building and blow the whole thing first when I get to try it on the next beta. I’m also curious if paddles can blow open a door to splinters like the shotgun gun if you hit them enough.

Maps are awful, at least in the beta, not a good impression.
Vehicles are neutered to shit, unfun to play, too stiff in movement and get stuck on everything.
Recoil is basically nothing, just bloom in spray.
High RoF weapons reign supreme. Accuracy, control, mean nothing.
Everyone attaches the green laser to get precision Hipfire so don't even need to ADS.
Animations will bug/glitch out at times and make the enemy look warped.
Too fast paced, you can jump into a slide.
No server browser(yet?)

Performance is at least alright, and it's a better step than BF2042 but nowhere near what BF2/3/4 was.

I kind of hope you're connected to Dice because this will feel like screaming into the void otherwise; but fix the hackers in the game. They're annoying to deal with.

I don't get what everyone is saying about their hits not landing. I'm playing the game on the west coast and all of my shots land just fine. It's only an "issue" when they suddenly turn a 180 and fire precisely at my head with their hacks. Are people just bad at the game?

And that's another thing too. At first, I thought the maps were pretty small. But I realized they only got larger if you actually completed the objectives and continued on to the next section of the map. No shit, Cairo is gonna feel tiny as fuck if you can't complete the objectives. They should still be bigger though. Something the size of Alaska would be perfect.

I like the game. I'll play the campaign so I know how to actually use the vehicles properly. If I get a job, I'll likely buy the game. It's simple, repetitive fun. Not a whole lot of games can do that anymore sadly.

it's fine so far, the small map issue will be fixed with bigger map. meanwhile, the class weapon lock is much needed, play the weaponlock server and you will see. Breakthrough mode in open weapon games is a mess because of it. So many people just spammed sniper rifle/shotgun and ignore the objective

How come a lot people didn't like BF1, I liked the gunplay and the atmosphere, the sniper sweet spot was a neat mechanic, the flare guns were really fucking funny, I like how much effort was put into the gun animations ans how your rifle would get like muddy or dirty over time

I’m playing on ps5 in performance mode on my 1080p 60hz dumb tv in game mode, it looks amazing and runs great. Doing my usual engineering with rpgs and mines hunting tanks as I make my way to cap objectives in conquest, having an absolute blast with the m4 with 1.5x sight and civilian headshot bullets.

Apparently you can. Theres also cosmetic unlocks in the beta that will be given in the full game which at least confirms that youll be able to change skins. Pic shows recon isnt black and the engineer isnt a chinese woman in the datamine, this apparently shows all the unique parts you can use between 2 factions.

It also showed that helmets are a seperate item from the bodies but we dont know if that means you can change them like its a cosmetic slot, should be noted that you cant remove masks, they are part of the helmet you pick.

PC, maps are very bad. MP7 and shotgun slaps, DMRs are shit, M417 is shit. Characters/factions are shit. Classes being able to use every weapon is bad. Hitreg is weird and all over the place, but honestly that was a problem with all battlefields.
I didn't believe the "there are bots" crowd, but today I saw quite a few bots on that snowy/mountain map. Performance is alright.

I came in 2nd place of the whole match as an engineer, I got 17 kills with 7 deaths and destroyed 2 tanks and did 11 caps and 4 revives on my teammates. Having an absolute blast on my ps5!

I have a Rx 6000/Ryzen 5 5600 and I can play at 90+fps consistently. Albeit, ar low settings.

The biggest one in my experience is sun shadow quality. Others might give a few FPS boos. I have a 2070S and set sun shadows to low and everything else to medium or high. Otherwise, DLSS is doing most of the performance boosting. Game already uses transformer model so even performance mode at 1440p isn't too bad looking.

No, I don't like it. It's fucking garbage. Worst gunplay I've ever experienced in a shooter and basically unplayable on controller. The maps are also ridiculously small and vehicles are an afterthought. Explosives are far too weak. The UI, menus, and visual clutter are awful and it makes target acquisition in fights much more difficult than it need to be. Terrible color pallette, both teams basically look the same and don't stand out much from the environment because of how monotnous it all looks.

It runs well is the only nice thing I have to say about it.

Mostly conquest. Tried Breakthrough a few times and it seems like it says both teams will swap attack/defense but I've only been on one side before the game ends. Attackers need way more tickets and get cockblocked always in Objective 2. Another fix would permanently lock the points the attackers secure to force the map deeper in. I have no idea how you can say that. The RPG, and explosives in general, are nerfed to hell. You can't even kill anyone with it unless it is a direct hit, splash damage from blowing up right next to them is negligible. And it takes a minimum of 5 rockets to blow up armored vehicles. It's actually terrible.

I am playing on Xbox S. Runs at a steady 60fps. Its amazing when you actually care about optimization. Game is good but it sucks they didnt include every weapon and gadget in this beta.

Played on PC. I think it's so-so, the maps just feel tiny for for 64 people and the game is just a complete clusterfuck because of it, TTK also feels quite low to the point where the guy who sees the other first has a nearly insurmountable advantage, if you begin shooting first you almost always win the fight. The vehicles feel kinda shit. Feels worse than BF4 overall. Maybe bigger maps will help, but since this is apparently just MM-based slop, will you even be able to choose what map to play on?

At least it runs pretty well for a modern game, I get like 70-90 FPS on a 4090 at native 4k DLAA with shit maxed and about 110-130+ FPS if I drop it to DLSS quality. Doesn't seem to stutter or hitch much either, it's surprisingly smooth for a modern game. Very high CPU usage though, my 7950X3D (16C / 32T CPU) is at like 65-70% usage, all cores and every single thread loaded significantly. I don't think I've ever seen a game use this much CPU.

I did my first session and played on Cairo, I lasted 1 round. Bad first impression, I will play more throughout the weekend but I logged off for now. Fake factions, typical mindless gameloop, mindless playerbase. I'm so used to the quality in games like Squad, the unwashed masses in BF is so off-putting.

Hate to break it to you, but there are no bigger maps. That New York map is small and similar to Cairo in that most of it is indoor areas and narrow alleys that vehicles can't get in. The only "big" maps are the mountain one that is already in this beta and the BF3 oil refinery remake. Every other map in the game is close quarters urban focused.

The average size of the maps is going to make or break this game for me, if it's looking like half of the maps on release are shoeboxes like Cairo I absolutely will pass on this game. I do not get the impression this is a Battlefield game right now, I haven't had a chance to play any of the other maps in the beta cause the matchmaking keeps throwing me in Cairo and I have Cairo fatigue.

Unfortunately, as one of the playtesters, I can confirm that the other 3 maps I've played that aren't part of this beta are also the same size and style as Cairo and Battery. The devs listened to people saying 2042's maps are "too big" and "too open" way too hard and went the opposite extreme. I hate everyone who bitched about 2042 and made them get rid of the 120 player modes. The game was perfect and now they have cowardly turned the game into COD team death match scale. We didn't know how good we had it.

Not that Anon. For me good gunplay starts with guns that are satisfying to shoot. You just posted Wraith from Apex so you'll get what I mean whe I say the wingman, the flatline, the charged sentinel, the kraber etc etc have some fucking oomph to them and feel fun to shoot and let's not even talk about a close quarter PK making you feel like you're Schwarzy in terminator 2.
I tried the finals and none of the weapons clicked with me, it all felt bland and had no oomph, if you get what I mean by that.

I had a lot more fun with that too. And the reason why is because the main multiplayer servers have serious bullet delay and hit registration issues. I noticed in the bot matches the game was significantly smoother and more responsive to play. All of my issues with the gunplay and not being able to hit or kill anyone online were fucking gone against the bots, I shot things and they died, and I also wasn't seemingly dying in one hit out of nowhere constantly. Their servers are clearly fucked because the core gameplay feels terrible online but pretty solid against bots.

I found that most action is located in these little bubbles around the cap points. once you venture out you wont see anyone for miles until reaching another cap point.
once you skirt around the hot spots you can cap all the points in the back.
makes massive fun to flank with an IFV, but on foot you basically walk through an empty map.
