You wouldn't want to stay in them anyway. If a portal world is "active" with a player inside them when the reset happens on midnight, it won't reset on that instance and you'll have to wait for next reset.
Best to have your nighttime bases outside in the facility itself.
The portal worlds reset roughly twice a week.
