You just have to make sure you install the frameworks mod, as in the "required mod" of every mod. NexusMod automatically tells you what are the required mods so it should be simple. Everything depends on ~8 mods. Also you have to install the free mod DLC on Steam. Again it's super simple.

Witcher 3 has different paths and chocies in nearly every story event. From what to do in Red Baron quest and its outcome to helping Triss or not to who do you support as king in Skelliege. It has 3 different endings depending on the choices you make through the game and not a last minute "who do you want to call to trigger teh ending section".

I used the dark desires mod and it felt like it was just part of the game. Having limits to calling for rides, having to eat and drink the hundreds of food items I was picking up all the time, heading back to my various apartments to shower and sleep so I didn't become a cyber psycho, getting naturally addicted to smokes cause Johnny kept making me light up, then spending the rest of the game with a few packs on me, enjoying a buff that I could not let lapse otherwise it hurt. This game had all the tools to begin with, it just fumbled the bag.

if you want to get into some extra cyberware and drugs from black chrome and synthdose you DO need to fuck with those.
black chrome and synthdose are easy shit to fix for 2.2x though.
unzip the mod, go in and tear out certain sections in its scripts per the comments on the mod page, rezip the folder as a .zip, put the new one in the nexus staging folder, and modmanager will recognize it and load it normally.

but yeah the only mods in my 160 or so modlist I needed to edit were

there is also some mods like Cyber-ex that require you to directly fiddle with its code to alter the "settings"
cyber-ex expands the cyberware slots you get and lets you pick what perks are needed to unlock them.
properly expanding THAT is finicky.
the comments will tell you how to easily add a few slots here and there, but there are some hidden issues if you expand too much that can pop up.

There are cybernetics for all sorts of playstyles. You can get legs that jump really high, legs specialized in sprinting, legs specialized in stealth. You can get eyes specialized in finding cameras, eyes specialized in marking enemies through walls, eyes specialized in aiming for sniping. The list goes on and on.

Also, the story is not bad by any means. It just won't give you too many choices. Which is fine, but the game was advertised as a RPG with lots of choices so the people that fell for the marketing are bummed out. It's like a No Man's Sky situation.

I just hate how piss fucking easy the game is no matter what you do, and how you get the best loot in the game 20% into the story because of the fucking level scaling
there really aren't a lot of story splits either, so replaying it feels fucking worthless.
I also found a perk that has been broken for over 2 years and when I googled it there wasn't a single mention about it on the internet, so I'm pretty sure the fans don't actually play the game and just use it as a screenshot generator.

dark future puts in energy, thirst, hunger, and nerve.
makes you need to eat, drink, rest, and calm down with something like a shower or drugs/alcohol.
nerve gets lower, your aim gets shaky, at 0 your heart stops unless you have the second heart implant.
energy... you get sleepy, never went to zero.
hunger and thirst give their own debuffs. easy to keep up though.

wannabe edgerunner gives you a humanity stat.
killing people from different factions drains it in varying amounts (fully customizable in settings) and using certain cyberware abilities can also drain it, I think.
if it gets low your vision starts going funny and you are put on the edge of a cyberpsychosis break.
if you leave it like that you go cyberpsycho and a five star bounty is placed on you.
avoid killing or take expensive neuroblockers (you can buy or craft) to both block the symptoms and prevent the loss of humanity.

get to your apartment, pet your cat, take a shower, spend time with a lover hanging out, and sleep to restore humanity. (also fully customizable)

grab dark future, wannabe edgerunner, economy of 2077, better armor scaling (go for the HARD option), Enemies of Night City, NCPD Prevention Police Enhancement.

It will stop being so easy unless you cheese and/or minmax a playstyle for maximum effect early on.
eventually things will snowball so you become quite powerful, but as long as the armor scaling mod is on you will have reason to pay attention to even random mooks with guns.
cops will intervene if one is nearby a fight and try to take out everyone involved.
they will try to chase, dismount, and investigate the area they last saw you in.
stealth becomes a lot harder unless you build yourself into stealth to go full apeshit on certain bosses and beat them down so fast they don't get to alert anyone else, or take advantage of certain openings with scripted events.
If you are really into netrunning those same bosses can often be network breached in a super-challenge hacking event that do a bunch of different things, depending on what you are able to complete.

and default settings on the weapon conditioning mod you will get up to blue weapons easily enough, but the need to maintain your shit and upgrade your cyberware will make you feel like you are living on a rough edge for a while.
the economy of 2077 will make you feel hard up for cash to get all the things you want as well, and suddenly all your loot becomes a more important choice of

I think he explains it to you, although it's been a while since I played the game so some of his backstory might've been explained in DLC. He was a US military deserter who saw what lengths the US gov would go to in Central America in order to establish control over the drug trade, and when many of their soldiers deserted they were paraded as terrorists in the media. When he finally returned to America, Arasaka had already expanded into it. They began production on Soulkiller which he saw as completely unethical and then they ended up kidnapping his gf for the program. He raids them to save her and then he gets captured and absorbed into the relic. He has plenty of reasons to hate them.

Not a problem with the narrative. Characteristically, it makes sense. Even if not much about V is directly stated, it's implicit that they are a young small fry looking to progress in the criminal underworld by any means necessary, not just for themselves but also due to peer pressure because their best friend is pushing them into it and they're too naive/submissive to say no. It's a good criticism of the game design though. V is written as a pre-established character even if the game gives you (often meaningless) choices to create the illusion that they are a creation of the player.

The only reason Franklin even became a part of the heist crew was because Michael was forced to pay back Madrazo. Like Dex, Michael was returning from years of retirement, had zero reliable friends other than Lester, and was gambling on Franklin by taking him on as an apprentice because he was up shit creek. That's a decent example actually.

1. I don't think his motivation or at least the drug trade us mercenary were in the base game, I only played that one. The rest is probably true but I don't remember as I have not played it since 2020.
2. The heist were poorly done in terms of story telling but I can think one scenario where it makes sense and that the heist were a set up. I mean everything that can go wrong goes wrong during the heist.

Ive tried playing this game like 5 times and I just cant get into it. There's something about the world and characters which deeply irks me and makes me unable to care or immerse myself into any of it. I think this game really would've been better if they went the mass effect route and clamped the RPG systems down to like 5 mostly premade build paths because there is a severe dissonance going from this fairly expansive system of perks, attributes, weapons, and cyberware, to then having none of it matter narratively or in conversation ever, I think this is the biggest reason why I can't immerse in it. The characters and dialogue is mostly alright, but man once you pull back the fancy real time looking around the actual conversational mechanics and repercussions are literally more primitive than they were in ME1, which already isn't a particularly deep RPG, and then the game expects to make it work for like 70 hours?

I only say all this because I've played parts of this game that I really enjoy but then there's just the malformed whole that eventually kills all my enjoyment, it's a very stifling feeling.

Anyone ITT could take the fastest supercar in the game and you would NEVER beat me racing through Nightcity on a motorcycle. Any motorcycle, I don't care which one.

That's the thing, the clever part of this game is that it tried to do a realistic cyberpunk setting in the sense that their culture is ACTUALLY impacted by consumerism, capitalism and the practical consequences of rampant criminality and cyberpsychosis.

The result is that all sorts of aesthetics exist in the world. You can be a suit and tie corpo, you can be a trenchcoat wearing Neo knock-off, you can be a traditional samurai, you can have a military aesthetic, you can go full ANIME. Everyone is doing their own thing and you feel like you also have freedoom to express yourself in pretty much any way.

I did that, don't underestimate the tech weapons. A tier 5++ Nekomata with the right mods and a raiju SMG will shred any boss at the highest difficulty with no problem. Even through walls so you literally take no damage yourself.

I considered the game almost unplayable before 1.6 or whatever update it was that changed the weapon leveling and perk systems. The gameplay loop was a dogshit version of Borderlands at first. It's definitely a lot funner now but it leaves something to be desired. If you derive your immersion from watching procedurally generated NPCs I dunno what to say but the mods make Cyberpunk's NPCs way more reactive than Watch Dog 2's, they'll actively fight each other for any reason which fits Night City's theme

i had an experience like this with the same mod. i got in my car to drive somewhere, and the game spawned a gang ambush directed at me because i'd just finished retrieving the Flathead. but the mod had spawned two, procedural gang vehicles at the intersection where they slammed into me, and the whole street erupted into gunfire. it had to have been an 11-man gang war before the cops pulled up and made it even crazier.

the additional mod that stops cops from labeling you a threat for helping them kill hostile NPCs is also a god send. the game is noticeably more fun when i can jump into a dynamic encounter like that without having to shake a Wanted level at the end of it.

Any mod that gives more unique dialogue/outcomes for quests?

Just get mod organizer 2 if you want to learn modding properly (skyrim patrician choice) - otherwise download the nexus mod manager. For cyberpunk it is more than enough. Do it as follows:

1. Go to nexusmods
2. Download/install the nexus mod manager
3. Go to the cyberpunk nexus page
4. Sort mods by most endorsed or most downloaded

All the framework, essentials and required main mods will be at the top and won't be hard to spot (cyber-ex, deceptious quest core, equipment-ex, etc).

5. Install all the framework mods you see, if you don't need them for a mod, then no worries. It's just a foundation with nothing built on it.
6. Install the mods you like, just keep scrolling down the most endorsed page and see what you would like to use

Note: install with mod manager when prompted on download and avoid character skin mods and too many hairstyles. There's limited slots in the game and files will conflict, trying to overwrite each other. Anything else is pretty much fair game. Same goes with cars though. It needs to added externally to traffic through another mod.

EASY MODE: Get the program Wabbajack. It completely automates modlist installing if you have nexus premium. City of Dreams is a decent cyberpunk modlist.

Also, try to find the mod which ports over vortex wabbajack installs to mod organizer 2 (which gives you more control of things) and you'll have more control over additional mods you wanna install

most of that is fine, some of it I would check, its missing a few bug fixes as well as a few immersive bits... making the police refuse to intervene when you start a shoot out with gangers seems stupid to me but its a playstyle choice.
mod is lacking the slower and harder playstyle mods and extra cyberware I personally prefer to have.

those "stay at your house" mods from deceptious are really only "pick one and keep it" because if you have two of those people romanced and the mods for both it bugs out.
futhermore 2.2x onwards means you get the capability of those mods anyways for free, in a slightly different form.

overall its a great list but I would check through it and make sure nothing is broken, pick and choose for the aforementioned things, and personally would add my mix of gameplay changes and extra fixes.

my issue about the mods for this game is that there is no "tasteful" body mod. they all give HUGE breasts and ass. the only good one just enhances the textures, but does very little to adjust the shape of the body. also, the majority of the clothing mods are degenerate trash made by men who know fuck all about aesthetics. the only good clothing mods are the military/techwear stuff like zenitex.
