That's a Buddhist god. The Buddhist religion says that there is no escape from the cycle. It cannot be ascended from, destroyed, or controlled. What you are supposed to do is stop it from controlling you. At this point you can gain a perception of how control your destination, like a sailboat harnessing the wind to go where it wants.
